An idea for Lorien's rescue fund-raising
I've gone back to look at "The Mayor of Kittenopoulis" about three or four times - it's almost like a little picture book.

The calendar idea is a great one, but what about a book (or booklet)?

Either one for children (like a day in the life of the "Mayor") or one for adults (maybe an updated "Silent Miaow" kind of "The Care and Training of Humans")

1. Funny, I was thinking about that last night!
I have Paul Gallico's "Silent Meow" here too. I was thinking of fleshing out my "Mayor of Kittenopolis" post and sending it as a book to my friend's two young boys. I thought for a minute about trying to suggest something to my publisher (oddly enough, I'm a children's book illustrator, and I'm authoring my first book this year), but I'm concerned that I'd need to come up with some more professional photographs. My little point and shoot can only do so much!

Illustration sample:

2. You ought to write a book, "The Mayor of Kittenopolis"

It would be a hit with little cat lovers and their parents.
Use the pictures to illustrate and your own words (that kids can understand) as captions.

3. Gorgeous illustrations
Both would probably work well - illustrations or photos.

I just fell in love with Nimue & Calliope from all those photos though...(I know, no help at all)

What does your editor think about illustrations vs. photos?

4. Thanks!
my publisher is a pretty big outfit (they also publish the Harry Potter books), so they tend to go with either very high concept stuff or big names. There are some smaller publishers out there, though, that might be worth approaching. And of course there's self publishing. I'll poke around and see what's out there.

:hi:
