Maybe just a wee bit psychic? |
|
Starting to think that a talent I always took for granted might actually be a wee touch of psychic ability...
I've always had a knack for knowing the next line a character will say in a TV show, or knowing the word that someone I'm listening to is searching for. I thought it was because I'm a writer with a knack for dialog and good vocabulary.
Someone once told me Helen Mirren should play me in the movie of my life, which slightly offended me at the time, because she's older than I am and the person who said it is younger, but then I saw her in Gosford Park utter this line, talking about serving the upstairs gentry: "I know what they want before they know it themselves." That is totally what I do. I am Helen Mirren in Gosford Park.
So today, we were trying to figure out what my Director meant when he referred to a particular project list as being "dated." The list was accurate, up to date, so we weren't sure what his problem was. I said I'd touch base with him, and in an email I threw out a suggestion as to what I thought maybe was bothering him about it. Just the use of one word being used to describe the list. I haven't worked with him all that long, I had no reason to know that was the problem, but it was. He said I hit it exactly. Not the first time I have done that in dealing with him, either.
Of course, I cannot do this with everybody, unfortunately. I would be much better off if that were the case. :-)
All this time I've been thinking "I am just that good," when maybe, really, I am just a bit psychic. It's something I've always been able to do, and so I just take it for granted. But gee...how cool!

1. I don't doubt one bit that you're psychic |
|
I've noticed that vibe in a lot of your posts. You're probably such a good writer because you're psychic. At least that's the way it feels to me.

2. It sounds as though you have the gift of claircognizance, Callie. |
|
Claircognizance (knowing)In the field of parapsychology, claircognizance is a form of extra-sensory perception wherein a person acquires psychic knowledge primarily by means of intrinsic knowledge. It is the ability to know something without knowing how or why you know it.You were probably already familiar with the term, but I thought that I'd include it for anyone who wasn't. Yay you! :D

7. If I have any psychic ability, that's what I have as well... |
|
but not quite in the same way.
Mine's very subtle though. Yours seems to be more reliable.

3. you sound exactly like my middle daughter!! |
|
It is a kind of insight PLUS. A teacher told me once that she almost thought my daughter was psychic, because she always knew what the teacher would say before she said it. Also, the teacher would try to explain something to the class, and only my daughter could understand it. Then my daughter would have to proceed to interpret what the teacher meant for the rest of the class. This didn't have much to do with intelligence, but just in having an uncanny ability to get in someone's head and know what they mean, even before they say it.
Yeah, it is a very cool trait!

10. Is that like being a little bit pregnant? |
|
Seriously, Callie, I know what you mean. I'm the same way. Plunk me in front of a crystal ball, and I got nuthin'. But I can predict with certainty the way people will behave in a variety of situations.
And you know what? I don't think it's any worse than being "full-on psychic". It's like a different type of talent, but equally important. So own it, sistah!

12. As we awaken in consciousness....we have experiences of our spiritual gifts and powers.. |
|
To put it another way..we are all roses on the same bush...some bloom early, some bloom later but we are all roses and the first rose is no more lovely than the last. And just like the rose, we each "open" our spiritual gifts/powers (petals) in our own unique way. For example, one may be clairaudiant first or another might be clairvoyant or we might get flashes of "Seeing" /or "Knowing" etc. Never the less..we all contain the potential to have the exact same gifts and powers and in one lifetime or another we will each wake up (attain enlightenment). I find it amusing that those that are not enlightened (as of yet) like to make up the "rules" of what an enlightened person does or doesn't do or say. :) It is rather cute..like a child deciding what adults really do. :P
