Have you ever zapped a cloud?
This was apparently a Silva thing, taught to my sister and I by our parents when we were children. You just pick a cloud, any cloud, and make it go away by focusing your mind on it. It's funny, because almost everyone is skeptical until they try it, then suddenly they can't believe that they've just zapped a cloud. We used to sit around on Saturday afternoons and just zap these huge clouds out of the sky. It was also great fun on long road trips to grandma's house. Grab a cloud and make it disappear in three or four minutes. We had mixed rates of success.

Some people thought we were pretty weird when we mentioned it...but we knew that pretty much anyone can do it. I'm zapping some storm clouds right now, in fact.

2. No. As a child riding in a car I used to try to change red lights
to green lights. At times it seemed to work well, at other times, not so good.

11. This is actually a fascinating topic. Today I remembered other things I
did, or imagined myself doing, with clouds as a child. I had completely locked all this stuff away in a brain cell that still hasn't died off in spite of my best efforts to slay them all.

Its truly amazing the simple joys children can have, and which growing up in our corrupt world means letting go of forever.

3. Yep!
It wasn't Silva for me, it was after reading "Illusions" by Richard Bach.

My son and I used to go to the park and do this - I enjoyed it, but then realized that it wasn't right for me to force my desires onto everyone else. That was a really good wake up call for me. We are all connected.

Maybe that's where it's from. What a great book that was. I should read it again.

6. Yes and you'll never believe who taught me to do it.
A man who taught adult sunday school in the Methodist church.

He started out by telling us a story about when he died during surgery. He said when he came back he knew all kinds of things. This was an incredible guy. He just fit himself right into the mainstream public and told it like he saw it. I used to laugh myself silly (on the inside) as I watched the "closed" people freak out whenever he told a personal story. }(

9. Well
He is really dead now but the one I remember most vividly was when he described what it was like when he was dead, before they resuscitated him.

He talked about the tunnel and talking to who he called angels. They were showing him his life and the things he'd done and then showed him things he could still do if he decided to come back, he said he was given that choice. He was "given/shown" information about his loved ones, things like it was all working out the way it was supposed to. He said he felt very good about everything then because of the power of love. He said we are all so very loved and that we all have angels or helpers who try to guide us.

He said we are at a disadvantage because we (most of us) can't see or feel that side. He said he could see (he described it as looking through a screen door)and feel but the feelings were at a "higher" level. He still knew what pain was (because he'd experienced it) but it wasn't traumatic or frightening - more like an observation. Except when it came to the stuff he was ashamed of that he had done. He said that they didn't judge him, he judged himself relative to how it made others he had hurt feel. (I hope that makes sense). He said life is all about relationships and caring for each other (democrats have a head start I guess huh).

(He stressed the most IMPORTANT task any of us have to realize is that we really are held accountable for our thoughts, words and deeds. He said it wasn't someone else judging us it's us measuring ourselves against perfection).

Anyway he said he was not afraid to die after that experience. He said he knew what life was supposed to be then. He taught "alternative" Sunday School from then on. I met him a few years after this experience and he was already in his 80's. He thought like a much younger person and he was so open and loving. He never tried to make anyone believe they weren't good enough and insisted we could always wake up and try again because the next important thing to know was to learn from error and not to beat ourselves up over it.

He said we have abilities far beyond what we are taught, form follows thought and perseverance and acceptance were two great life skills to cultivate. Oh yes and fear is mostly overrated. He said it was good in very few instances.

Anyway he was one terrificly awesome man. Thanks for asking.:hi:

10. That's one beautiful story.
Those helpers, and that message, is very similar to what I've been reading in http://www.ichingoracle.com/show_book.php?ID=7">"I Ching, The Oracle of the Cosmic Way" by Carol K. Anthony and Hanna Moog.

As for moving clouds, I recall reading about how Elvis once got out of his car on the way from L.A. to Vegas in the late 1960s, pointed his finger at a cloud and commanded, "Move, F**ker!"

12. Thank you so much!
It was so great to hear that - I almost wish I could have his experience so that I could have the courage to live as he did! It must have been wonderful to know someone like that!

The part that scares me is being held accountable for my thoughts, because I can't always seem to control them and my negativity can get the best of me at times.

Thanks again OhioBlues! :hi:

7. I heard about this a long time ago.
I think it was in a book called "Yoga, Youth, and Reincarnation" by Jess Stearn. I never heard of it being associated with Silva, but I never took a Silva training. (I did take a training that unapologetically claimed to be a ripoff of Silva plus TM, and it wasn't in that training.)

I've done it off and on over the years, with mixed success. Sometimes I'm really "on" and the clouds start to diminish in seconds. There's a certain feeling when I'm "on" like that, but I can't quite put my finger on it and can't produce it at will.

I tend not to do it when there are few clouds in the sky (Don't mess with Mother Nature), so here in this part of California, that means for about half the year I don't do it all. (Well, during much of that half the year, there just aren't *any* clouds to try it on.)

I've heard skeptics say that clouds just naturally appear and disappear and you'll get "hits" by randomly picking out a cloud and waiting, doing nothing. However, my observation is that the cloud I pick out is the one that disappears and the other clouds around it stay.

I've also noticed that it seems easier for me to do with cumulus clouds, and that factor at least fits the skeptics' view because cumulus seem to come and go a lot.

13. kinda like jesus and the fig tree.
:D

that's where you get that "move any mountain" phrase.

normally i like clouds, so i don't zap them. though i love dancing up a sun shower. not a cloud in the sky, dance passionately, and then *blam* torrential downpour for a few minutes. sometimes better than turning on the garden hose.

or create a breeze was another favorite. when i was younger i was lazy and started raking up the leaves with wind (on at least it seemed that way). got a nice pile going. still, certain east asian thought is a funny comeback to all that -- why not just use a rake? like the apprentice who studied tao for decades to walk across a river, told his master and the master said, "you fool! the old ferryman has been so close by and only costs a few copper. you wasted all that time!"

also did red light/green light. only do it now when i'm running late, otherwise i let it be.

but yes, best not to mess with mother nature. has its own job to do.

14. Thought I'd kick this, with Rita bearing down and all.
Edited on Fri Sep-23-05 02:01 AM by SimpleTrend
Anyone want to work on zapping a hurricane? Ever tried it? Rita's motion is a counter-clockwise spiral when viewed from above, so perhaps imagining a counter-motion would be called for. If it can be completely zapped, then so much the better.

16. I've actually been using my energies to try to zap negativity
related to Rita and other disasters (friends and family members' health) all. day. long. No evidence that it's helping, though I've been able to effect changes that resemble those discussed in this thread before.

18. Rita's been downgraded to category 3.
That's not "evidence" that this has worked, but it is a welcome decrease of intensity!

Zapping a hurricane with all its energy has got to be more difficult than a simple, wispy cloud.

17. I've been working on sending light to Rita
and visualizing the light slowing down the momentum then fizzling her out. Sort of like cardboard in the spokes of a bicycle tire.

As for clouds, I don't zap real ones but I do keep the chem trails cleared pretty effectively from above my house.

19. I guess it's like a mind connection.
After I posted here last night, my mind's visualization of nested counter-spiral vortices on Rita became much easier.

Today, the visualization is more difficult again.

21. I have called (summoned) the clouds a few times.
It just occurred to me one day that maybe they would respond the way the cows did when I was a farm kid. So I went outside and hollered for them, "Sook, Cloud, Sook, Cloud! Sook, Sook, Sooooooooooooook, Cloud! Come on, babies!"

And they showed up a few minutes later--a great galloping Cumulus Herd!

I do not do that anymore, because I feel it is not my place to do so. Better to leave everything to Mother Earth; I think She was just being nice to me on those occasions.

Remember New Orleans

24. When my son was 12
he nagged me to read "Adventures of a Reluctant Messiah". Dissolving clouds was in there.

We lived in Boulder then, great place for walks. He'd ride slowly around me on his skateboard. He wanted us to try the clouds. I laughed but agreed. It surely worked.

We wondered if our desire made the cloud dissolve or if we were just good at picking clouds that would dissolve and if there was a difference.

Later he'd get irritated if we'd be walking and I'd compliment the weather but wish for a breeze and a breeze would come, things like that. At 13 he felt it was "too metaphysical" and told me to stop. Stop what? I was making no attempt, just expressing my desire.

When he was 14 he had a paper route. One morning it was raining hard. He woke me to tell me to make it stop. I told him I couldn't stop the rain, he told me to try. I asked the rain to stop while he was out (how stupid) and went back to sleep. As it happened the rain stopped as he walked out and started again when he got home.
I told him it was a coincidence but it happened every time he asked. I told him if it was more then coincidence then it was his desire more then my request, though he rejected that.
But he did that for years when there were special events.

One winter I was tired of snowy roads on the way to work. I set out my guidelines and told God I was grading him, kept it on a calendar. He only got 2 grades below C. There were bad days that I already had scheduled to stay off.

It all could be a coincidence, it really could. Still it doesn't hurt to ask. By the time I was genuinely asking I always added "unless there is a higher reason it be otherwise" to the request. I don't think I could change higher will in any case. But as simple as it is for weather to change...if there isn't higher reason not to get your way, you just might.

Once I agreed to go sailing with a guy that weekend. He was talking about how it goes depending on ideal conditions. I asked what they were and he told me. Maybe it was temp and wind speed? I said OK, we'd get that and joked I was a weather goddess. He laughed to and said the forecast was far from that and I said I hadn't asked yet.
When we went it was whatever exact conditions requested. I thought it was funny.
He creeped me out. He dismissed it being an odd coincidence and really pressured me to do it for other times and places, just thrilled what it could do to certain of his stock trades. For certain things he'd want bad weather, for others good. My no was very clear and strong and so was his pressure. How odd he thought I had done that. I refused to see him again.

But if I "do" things...and I don't, though my intent may affect things...it is always in a spirit or energy of play. Plans like that guys are not it.

Many odd things happen in many areas in my life...but never through my effort. It is the opposite of effort. Even changes in myself... I feel like a simple witness, if a grateful one. (Not always grateful, though it's never bad things) It's...in letting go and just being...and wanting what you want and feeling what you feel. Being in that center place and flowing, just...relaxed. Like the best we can do is get out of our way so divine order can come through.

Boy could I go on, so I will stop instead. But I will say I asked for abatement of the hurricanes "if there was no higher reason". Clearly I am not the boss of the weather or the world.
