Just dropped my son off at school. He was seated next to me focused on his Nintendo game. Trying to make conversation with him I mentioned the volcano and the closure of the airports. Without looking up he said, yeah there was an earth quake in China too. As we approached his school, he started to gather his things and said simply, "it's starting". At that point I pulled over in front of his school & he opened the door and scooted off. "Bye Mom!" Sheesh...

3. What did he mean by that?

Is he exposed to the 2012 myths? Some of his buddies may have seen that awful movie about 2012 and have started talking about the end of the world.
I think that phrase of "it's starting" has entered the vernacular.

5. He definitely hasn't seen the movie and I doubt any of his

friends have, but who knows? (Kids at his school are pretty sheltered) I certainly haven't talked to him about 2012 though he has likely seen the commercials for the movie. It was really more the way he said it, very matter of fact.
