The only text I'm aware of that discusses phases of the moon was a link that Dover kindly offered to an article of Dane Rudhyar's.
http://www.khaldea.com/rudhyar/astroarticles/lunationbirthday_4.php(there are 4 sections to that article, the above is the last one)
It deals with moon types in relation to the birth chart, but there's no reason I can think of that they wouldn't apply to transiting moments, except, there's also an aspect relationship to your natal moon position that the linked text would fail to deal with.
Based upon my understanding of Rudhyar's ideas as he's presented them there, what you are experiencing is a full moon climax, a fulfillment related to what you have done in the recent moon cycle, new moon to new moon; however, you are also experiencing failures with what you perceive of the world outside of yourself, and are asking yourself, "Why?"
This fulfillment and frustration becomes what you need to let out and/or let go of during the next 13-14 days.
I believe that some of your frustrations are born out of cycles much longer than a 28 day one; though, its accepted in astrology that the moon often acts as a trigger for other planetary aspects and cycles.
Taking a break from politics is probably a great idea if you think it's what you need to do. Perhaps instead of second guessing yourself, consider remembering those moments in the class that made you smile, or you could simply give yourself permission to experience the other, frustrating feelings in full (as long as they don't endanger you or anyone else, including your computer).
