It's a Peace Party
Edited on Thu Aug-25-05 03:58 PM by Eloriel
I continue to be enchanted with what's going on in Crawford. Well, enchanted and amazed -- amazed at some of her startling clarity, amazed that she's still getting press, amazed that the Repug thugs haven't found a way to evict her, amazed at so many people feeling "compelled" to go there, etc., etc.

Just thought I'd share these two wonderful links. First, from a totally enchanting article from a couple of Arkansas grandmothers who made their way to Crawford:

Crawford calls to us. My friend Alison and I are compelled to go to Crawford and see Camp Casey for ourselves. We follow every little tidbit of information about what is going on down there in Texas. We have to go. Something important is happening. We decide it is up to us to represent the grandmothers of our country that were out there many years ago ending the Vietnam War for all of us. The war that the Peace Movement thought was the last war the United States would ever start.

snip

There is food and drink everywhere. We rode up in the shuttle on Saturday with organic chicken farmers and their donation of 5 or 6 coolers of roasted organic chicken. Everyone is incredibly generous. There is no scarcity here. There is abundance of everything. Everyone is taken care of and everyone is happy, having fun and feeling very optimistic. It’s a peace party. Gold star mothers thank us over and over again for coming and supporting them. We feel a little guilty that we are only here for a couple of days, but then we realize that’s the way Camp Casey is working. People come and stay as long as they can, two hours or two weeks. The cycle goes on. We talked to one gold star father who comes from Chicago every weekend, because that’s what he can do. It’s hard to comprehend that a young man would fly in from Boston for one night, or a man would drive a friend’s wife from Oregon, but that’s what they do. A couple of young women from Iowa, one a university professor, had put their gear in the car to go camping at the Iowa State Fair and decided to best place for them to camp would be Camp Casey, so that what they’re doing.

snip

So when we get lost, yet again, on Saturday, the old guy with the gimpy knee at the gas station where we stop to get directions doesn’t look scary to us any more. Here is an opportunity to spread peace, hope and justice. We tell him we are going to Crawford to be with that sweet woman who has lost her son. And by golly, the old man says, “Good for you. I knew Bush was trouble before he was elected the first time. Never voted for him; never will.” Later, we give the buttons from our chests to the clerk in the convenience store where we go to buy a Texas lottery ticket. We are on a peace roll and how good it is. We are thrilled; we are working to end this war one Texan at a time. Who knew Texas was such fertile ground?

3. It's really a miracle considering that the heat is
excruciating at this time and most Texans say this summer has been hotter than usual; that people have been able to ignore the discomforts and still come focused on the main reason for doing this.

It's a miracle that there has been no violence and that Bush's goons have restrained themselves from trying to remove them by force.

I hope that this movement continues beyond Crawford and that the Bush administration have no peace until they are gone. My positive energy is directed to the war protestors for their continued success.

Ever since Bush started the build up on his war against Iraq, I've been a bundle of nerves, waiting for something to happen to bring this nightmare to an end. The presidential election got very exciting, but we were left feeling so betrayed and abandoned. Cindy Sheehan represents everything we've been waiting for, especially her quest for truth while holding the facts proudly in front of her.

She stood up and made a statement. Look at how many people followed. Bush has hired a PR firm to stand up against her. Someone today pointed out that the "Cindy Doesn't Speak for Me" campaign never grows as it travels. Could that be because it's nothing, but paid for b.s.?

Cindy is the real thing. When she speaks, I cry and at our local vigil, so did everyone else. When these props hired by Rove speaks, you see blank eyes with no true emotion. Some people are buying it, but they're the same ones who are married to a cheating party and will do anything to remain faithful to the very ones who betrayed them, take their children and all their livelihood.

Cindy is taking some real hard hits right now and I'm concerned. She is fighting back like no other, except maybe Howard Dean. She is compassionate and sensitive, and that can open her up to feel the pain of their attacks. We need to shield her and protect her so that the truth can continue to flow. Bless this beautiful woman and protect her mind and soul.

4. Here's an interesting astrological article I found

on Cindy Sheehan.

http://www.stariq.com/NewsScope.HTM

"Anti-war protestors camped outside Bush's ranch in Crawford, Texas carried on their vigil, even as their leader, Cindy Sheehan, left for Los Angeles to visit her ailing mother. In California, Sheehan reiterated her demand that Bush explain the "noble cause" that killed her son in Iraq. Meanwhile, candlelight vigils were held in cities across the nation to support the grieving mother.

Cindy Sheehan was born with her Sun in the caring, maternal sign of Cancer (July 10, 1957; Bellflower, CA; time unknown*). Mars, the planet associated with initiative, anger, and heroic efforts, is empowered by a network of aspects to other planets, and is placed in proud, self-confident Leo. She began her protest on August 6 when the New Moon in Leo landed right on her Mars.

Ceres, the asteroid representing the mother-child relationship, is found in Gemini, exactly conjunct the U.S. Mars. Her son Casey went to Iraq and died there on April 4, 2004 as transiting Pluto opposed her Ceres. Pluto-Ceres connections often bring the loss of loved ones, and a lengthy grieving process. Pluto continues to oppose her Ceres, and the U.S. Mars, so that her personal grief is influencing the entire Iraqi war effort (Mars).

Sheehan's Chiron is also a key player, since it's located at 16º Aquarius, exactly opposite the U.S. Midheaven (and conjunct the Fourth House cusp). Chiron, associated with wounding and healing, is currently being activated by transiting Neptune. This combination projected her personal pain onto the nation's radar, creating widespread sympathy, and evermore confusion over the Pentagon's mission in Iraq."

You can view her chart at this link.

I am reminded of the message from that old Gypsy I once spoke of - a woman breaking loose her chains, and I can't help but wonder if that woman could be Cindy. She certainly reminds me of the spirit that Gypsy was needed to break free from the chains that have kept women bound for so long.
What a Shero!

5. It's the female energy coming in
Thank you for this post, talking about two grandmothers and their peace mission to Crawford. It is so thrilling to watch this play out!

Last week, as I was reviewing the pictures posted on DU of the peace vigils held across the country through my tears I noticed something. About 80-90% of the people pictured were women--mothers, daughters, sisters, wives and grandmothers! It occurred to me that the bravery and actions of women are turning this horrible situation around!

According to all the articles and books I have read about the Ascension, it is the light energy coming into the earth plane that is forcing this conflict with the dark forces. But the beauty is that the dark forces are powerless in the face of the light energy. And these beautiful, dedicated women (and men too) are throwing the light energy right in Bush's face. The light energy shines the light of truth and the dark forces lies are exposed. They can't stop us now--the light energy is too strong.

Here's to all the wives, mothers, daughters, sisters, grandmothers, husbands, fathers, sons, brothers and grandfathers who believe in the way of the light! We will prevail!O8)

8. I'm with you, there.
It seems such a simple thing, doesn't it? To go camp out in front of his house and ask for answers. The people rallying around her. The inept opposition scrambling for ammunition to offer up a weak, fumbling counter...they mirror their fearless leader.

The energy is welling up and out, and bringing real grassroots support.

9. I know El, isn't it GRAND?
Thanks for posting this...I too have been captivated by this entire Cindy/woman/Mother phenomena.

It is just to heartening to watch how all we needed was one woman to speak out and then so many voices behind her. Now voices speakingon thier own too. Just fills me with joy an dhope!!

We have begun our weekly peace vigils again ,beginning with the national one with Cindy. It feels good ...even just to stand with a candle on the street corner...all the cars and honking and thumbs up...really gratifying to know how much support there is for PEACE!

10. Oh, look at this: There’s a Mom Faction in American politics,
and while it isn’t a monolithic Third Rail, it’s at least and second-and-a-half rail. When their children are dying on a battlefield of choice, you touch it at your peril.

From an article called: My mom, not Cindy Sheehan, is Bush’s biggest problem

Fabulous replies, everyone. I hope to come back and respond to some. In the meantime, enjoy this latest one.
