Very interesting! Laughing Clubs

Very cool. :) There are several videos at YouTube about the Laughing Clubs.

The doctor who founded them said, with regard to the "forced" laughter that tends to start the sessions, "We have a motto: fake it, fake it, 'til you make it!"

(of course, that applies to many things, eh? ;))

1. I remember seeing that video!
It's great. Thanks for posting it--put a smile on my face!

This practice reminds me of one of my favorite exercises that my theater teacher had us do in college (although I've also done it with a small group from my former coven--doesn't matter the number of people): You lie on the floor, on your back, in a circle, with one person's head resting on the previous person's abdomen. The first person simply says "Ha!", using their diaphragm to sort of "punch it out" (as it's essentially an exercise in projection). The next person, after feeling the vibration through the back of his/her head, says, "Ha!" and it goes around the circle. When it gets back to the first person, s/he says it twice--"Ha! Ha!" And that goes around the circle. I swear we never made it all the way around twice before we were completely convulsed in uncontrollable laughter. I strongly recommend trying this with any spiritual group--it really gets rid of any ickies anyone has brought into the room, and it's very effective at fostering bonding! :hi:

2. Laughter really is a great cure all!
The night I came home from the hospital, I called my daughter to speak to Aidan.(remember when I was worried about him not talking yet?? LOL) He was telling me all about going to see Toy Story 3 with Momma and Daddy, while they were having a conversation in the background, Aidan pipes up "excuse me Daddy, I'm trying to have a conversation with my Nana"!!! I fell out...almost actually rolling on the floor!! Best medicine I could have received at the time.

4. I understand that research shows
that optimists tend to live longer and have far fewer health issues than pessimists. I'm sure optimists smile and laugh a lot more often.

5. I go regularly and will probably become a leader!
Laughter Yoga simply rocks, spiritually, physically, and every other way. Burns a few calories as well.
