I dreamed that I saw on television a live report showing helicopters hovering over the White House. I then turned off the Tv and went in the next room where my sister was reading a magazine. I opened the door and told her: "The White House is empty." It was kind of strange so I thought I would pass it along.

1. A dream I had the other night. |
|
I was working in a picture frame shop and had to mount a US map to foam core. When I took it out of the press, half of it was upside down and stuck to the paper meant to protect it. When I tried to fix it, it ripped straight in half (down the Mississippi river line). Parts of the Gulf area were missing (no brainier there). I was trying to fix the whole thing, match the pieces and glue it back together before my boss got back.
It felt significant.

In real life, does your work require you to do anything like affixing maps on something? Just wondering whether your brain may have been sorting out some business stuff while you slept.

3. very interesting, the country is coming unglued???? |
|
I had 2 dreams around hurricane katrina, one was of a big fish trying to gobble up another fish, and the other was that I saw the eagle like the one on the dollar bill, it was perfect in every detail but it had no head at all. Back to your map, I think it is significant that you were trying to fix things up, that you realized it was worth saving.

|
It seems to be an allegory for the country being leaderless or headless. It ties in with the first dream which said the WH was empty. Both could symbolize your feelings about the current state of things in this country. I can't figure out the fish eating up the other fish. Maybe the fundamentalists (*'s base) eating each other??? The repubs are starting to eat their own.

5. I think the fish relate to Plamegate |
|
I think that the circle is breaking down, I think people are beginning to think of self needs, I think the same is true of the country, we gave much to the Bush run, now we realize that the country is up on a sand bar with no gas in the engine, with a strong wind coming our way.
The White House is empty dream was different, watching the helicopters on Tv reminded me in my dream of the OJ chase on the freeway.

6. Are your dreams predictive? |
|
Just wondering whether you find that your dreams predict the future.
As for the empty WH and the helicopters dream, are you saying you think that Bush will run away from home to avoid prosecution or impeachment? Gosh, wouldn't that be funny. Who would give him asylum? Hmmm, maybe that's why he wants NASA to go to Mars -- "can't get me there!"

7. yes, I do dream about the future |
|
I dreamed that Art Carney and Jackie Gleason came to my house and Art Carney held up a piece of paper with the number 4-1-1, printed on it and the next night that number came out as 4-1-1 in the lottery and I won! If I dream about getting something in the mail then it comes. I have dreamed about things happening to my family and those dreams come true. I rarely dream about people outside my family.

Darn! Well, in case you dream of wonderful things happening to a petite brunette middle-aged woman who you can't identify, that may be me. Let me know about the dream, particular if Art Carney wants to give her (me) a lotto number.

15. Interesting that the split is east-west and not north-south |
|
Politically people see the country as north-south not east-west. When you said the map ripped in half down the Mississippi the first thing I thought of was the Louisiana Purchase. For me, because of the way the states are mapped out, the visual dividing line is west of the Mississippi. Your dream was more easterly.
So I have to ask what would split the states east-west more than north-south? Or I out in left field with this?

Most of the opposition to Bush is in the Northeast, although I heard that every town with a population of over 100,000 went for Kerry.

11. I don't know bout dreams |
|
but .... my brother in law and I have been talking for over a year now of three things
Possibly a civil war
The break up of the country'
Significant changes in our lives
When Katrina hit the Observer had a story pointing out that Americans were now united by a piece of cloth, but not really united. So what you may have seen is the balkanization of the country
As to the WH... and I am not into dream interpretation, maybe you saw Bush's leaving in them choppers, like Nixon.
We can hope and dread at the same time

13. My latest government-oriented dream was also strange. |
|
Please, everyone, NO FLAMES. This is not a post about partisanship, the future of the party or a criticism of the views of anyone here about the party or any future presidential candidates we may nominate.
I had a dream that I was working for Wesley Clark. On his presidential campaign. And we were at the convention. This is bizarre to me because, well, some here know that I would prefer a candidate who does not happen to be General Clark in '08. I actually got to talk to him a lot in the dream. He didn't like me very much.
I woke up feeling very odd after that one, and did several Tarot readings to try to sort out what was going on. Nothing significant came out of those readings, that I recall. So, it could have just been random. But since there was a dream thread to post it in, I thought I'd put it up.

27. I like Barbara Boxer too, but I don't dream about her |
|
I did dream that George Bush resigned, I think I had the dream about April or March of this year. When I dream about my family, the dream usually comes true about 6-8 months down the line. I dreamed about an event related to my mother dying in September, and she died in February. I dreamed that my father was all dressed up in formal suit, and he was fighting and would not get in the car. I did not know what this meant but this is exactly what happened when my mother died (they were divorced). He said he was going to the funeral then he fought with my brother-in-law and would not get in the car.

29. I should have said "hope" instead of dream. |
|
I meant my post as a light-hearted joke to say I'd like to see a Boxer/Conyers ticket, but I think that's unrealistic. In retrospect, I should not have used the word "dream." Sorry for any confusion I may have caused.
I know some people have dreams that foresee the future and I respect that and that's one reason why reason why I come in this group.

who is very psychic/attuned said recently that she had a dream where her mom called her and congratulated her (she's now an American citizen) on electing Gore.
My friend is very uncanny and she usually says things off the cuff that come true later. I was talking to her once and we were making plans to get together because our respective partners were out of town. We had planned to just hang out, make dinner and spend the evening talking. At the end of our conversation she said, "oh yeah, bring your brother I'd like to meet him." I told her my nearest brother was thirty miles away with no car and I had no plans to see him. Damned if the next morning one of my brothers showed up. He drove up from Texas for a business meeting in KC and dropped by to surprise me. I asked her, when I took my brother over to her house to meet her (for the first time) how she knew. She said it was the deja vu experience - while we were talking it brought back a dream she'd had before and she "remembered" that it led to meeting one of my brothers. She does it all the time.

22. I keep getting that feeling about Gore |
|
That when the veil finally drops and the truth is known about these elections, Gore will finally take his long overdue place in the White House. I don't know why I feel that so strongly, maybe because I've been seeing his name over and over again lately. I'm not physics at all, but that feeling just seems to be getting stronger every day.

23. An astrologer once told me that Gore could well still be elected president |
|
You know, again.
If you Google, you may be able to get secondary opinions about that from online readers. I, once again, am just an amateur with all of this astrology stuff. All I remember is that it had something to do with the placement of Mars in his chart. I've been thinking about this prediction a lot since Katrina, when the public got to see a little more of the real Gore on television, helping victims and speaking his mind.

It could be 2008 or who knows how things will come down over the next year. Indictments seem highly possible for Bush, Cheney, Rumsfeld, Rice, Wolfowitz, Hassert, Rove, Libbie, Hughes and I'm sure they will be an endless list of them we haven't gotten to know intimately yet. If this happens and convictions happen, who runs the country?

25. Yikes! Addendum to last post...it isn't (exactly) about Mars for Gore... |
|
Edited on Sat Oct-08-05 08:27 PM by BlueIris
I pulled up the opinion of that astrologer off of my hard-drive and she feels that Gore's potential for success is tied in with his Mars in Leo, (indicating a strong, but somewhat hidden desire to be in charge) but is more connected to his Sun in opposition to his Neptune--suggesting that (as many DUers already know) few know the real Gore or the scope of his true ambitions, thus he could yet shock everyone and attain his dream.

Al Gore is still my president, I hope he does take office, I feel that he is such a inspiring individual. Imagine a president that we can look up to again, someone that does not try to stir up the forces of hate to increase his power.
