1. Stability. Consolidation. I think of a chair with four legs.

Stability can be a very positive, grounding experience for someone, or it can lead to becoming overly concerned with maintaining that security at the cost of further growth. So it really depends on where one is in one's life and what is needed.

2. with Dover's post in mind, I would think that is an excellent number for a
home :)

you want your home to be a stable place from which you emerge to take on life's challenges :)

7. Interesting - I had always read # as limitations
In my numerology books I believe I always read 4 as limitations, restrictions - the books are in storage right now

My life path number is #6
Finding balance - I have not found it - I am failing this life tasks

But I am looking for a new home to move into and the one I like best is a #4

Thanks for everyones input - your thoughts on #4 help me not avoid living in #4 house again -

Yes, FOUR is good for creating solid foundations.

PERSONAL YEAR 4 describes the following:

Hard work, personal discipline, overcoming obstacles and limitations. Once overcome, great things can be achieved. Watch health issues, emotional, medical, dental. Get needed rest. Real Estate, relocations, properties, fix up your home, office, create a private space so you can be alone to process your issues and goals. Avoid confrontations. You can meet a partner, but it probably will involve learning lessons, which at this point you chose to avoid. You want a partner who is there for you. Be sure you both have the same goals.
Not usually a time for the avant garde or transitory. The energy is more about rootedness, tradition, conservation, longevity, and solid forms.

_______________

Four is seen as the first solid number.
Spatial in scheme or order in manifestation.
Static as opposed to the circular and the dynamic
Wholeness; totality; completion; solid
Earth; order
Rational - relativity and justice. Symbol of measurement. Foundation.

6. Astrologically, the 4th House represents the home or base of operations
the family, roots, the parents, the property one lives on or inherits and a person's general foundation in life.

4. me, i never liked the number 4.
too boring. there are different systems of numerology, but the one people generally use seems to be influenced by vedic astrology. For example, in vedic astrology the number 6 relates to Venus and Mercury to the number 5. Number 4 relates to Rahu - the north node of the moon. The nodes are 'malefics' in vedic astrology. But it also depends on how you relate personally to the planet/number.

Try this site http://www.cyberastro.com/online/num.asp
Click on 'interaction with other numbers' at the bottom of the list and put in your birthday and then the number 4.

In feng shui the number four is considered very unlucky and related to death.

"#4 (Sei) the worst number, why? Because in Cantonese when spoken sounds like the word death. #13 because if you add 1=3 = 4 as above. #24 #104 are also considered unlucky -- If you own a home or business with a 4 or 13 is to draw a circle around the number, seriously it is that simple. The circle is extremely powerful and encloses the inauspicious effects of a negative number. So if you have a house number 4, a cheap way of curing is to go outside and draw a circle around your number or if you have time and money pop down to your local hardware store and find one of those ceramic door numbers that you can customise with a circle around the number, all this time you were worrying about nothing."
