Pluto square Pluto
I just found out that I have a Pluto square Pluto coming up in mid Feb 05 and lasting until Dec 06. I understand this will be my "mid-life crisis". My question is, can my natal chart be used as a guide to determine which aspect of my life this will involve? (If the answer is yes, please note that I am interested in astrology, but not very learned, so type slowly :P )

1. Aspects are strongest when they impact personl planets
So Pluto aspects to Mercury, Venus, Sun, and Moon would be strongest. That being said, the transit will activate the meaning of your Pluto. Look at what house it is in, what aspects it has, and what house it rules to determine its meaning for you. Note especially the tightest aspects. You can post all that here if you want a translation.

2. Thank you Nancy
Pluto is in my second house (is that money?), but I'm not sure what you mean by the "tightest aspects".

Here is my natal chart:

(BTW: my friends and I all enjoy your web site!)

3. Look for and work with changes in your 4th House
you have Scorpio on the cusp of your 4th house, and Pluto is a ruler. Thus the transit of Pluto in Sag in waxing square to your natal Pluto, will bring mutation to all affairs ruled by the 4th House, and colored by the background energy of Scorpio.

That's a meditation there. Just study the 4th House in general, and then your 4th House in particular. What needs to shift in your foundation, your home, your deepest sense of self, the things that root you to life? All that is up for change, and if you work with it you can make them beatuiful, strong, and permanent changes -- re-do the foundation of your life, and your "mid-life crisis" will be a time of rebuilding for the rest of your life.

Good luck, SH

4. The transit doesn't really come til 2006
As SH says, there is a focus on your 4th house, your deepest emotional roots, which may go through some transformation and some intense emotional experiences. You have Mars right on the 4th cusp, so there may be some historical anger at one of your parents or some kind of irritable or angry environment at home. There may be some focus on these issues. With Pluto in the second, there are also issues around money and a kind of intense need you feel for material things. This could play into the issues with your parents.

More interesting in the immediate future is the quincunx of Uranus to your Jupiter. Since you have a natal conjuction, this could bring some interesting opportunities that are unexpected. (Second half of January and early February)
