Uranus turns retrograde on June 19th (turns direct on November 20th)
Edited on Sat Jun-17-06 03:34 PM by I Have A Dream
Rest up while you can! On June 19, Uranus turns retrograde, bringing his flair for the unusual to a planet near you. Until the ruler of rebellion returns to direct motion on November 20, you may notice an increase in personality transformations or oddball news reports; indeed, the conventional wisdom for the next few months is 'Expect the unexpected.' Now, those of you with well-worn PDAs and perfectly up-to-date planners might find that advice less than reassuring. But the key to success these days is to go with the flow. That mind of yours is brimming with untapped talents and innovative ideas, and Uranus is bound and determined to set them free!

Uranus established his reputation as our solar system's renegade long ago. But this planet is very much a rebel with a cause, namely humanitarianism, creativity and breaking with tradition. During his retrograde journey, that energy -- which typically plays out on a more collective scale -- is focused inward. Is there a cause you want to get involved with? a pottery class you've had your eye on? a certain bohemian side of yourself that you haven't seen in a while? Seize this chance to celebrate your individuality and move beyond the status quo.

Of course, a period known for erratic, unusual behavior might not be the best time to act on every brilliant idea. But these upcoming months are your golden opportunity to think outside the box in ways that the 9-to-5 world of convention doesn't always allow. Experiment with new modes of expression to find the one that suits you best (pens, food, clothes, music ... no doubt you have ample tools all around you). By late November, you may find that you're ready to share what you've learned with the world.

Here's to making Uranus's retrograde period the start of something much bigger!

1. So now both Uranus and Neptune (and possibly other planets) are...
retrograde. Anyone have a feel for what this means when they're both retrograde at the same time? Is this unusual that they're both retrograde at the same time?

Thanks!

It's not at all unusual that all the outermost planets go retro simultaneously.

Jupiter is retro till July 7th. Mercury (innermost) goes retro on July 4th. (happens 20% of the time) Pluto has been retro since March 29th.

Happens every year.

No biggie really.

The outer most planets are internalized. The innermost are externalized is all.

It's both confusing and simple How's that for an absolute?

3. Someday I'll understand it all. I'm always hoping that there's some...
unusual astrological event that will occur that will make things change in the US.

So, you're saying that from July 4th through July 6th, Mercury, Jupiter, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto will all be retrograde? Sounds scary, but it's obviously not. I hear the word "retrograde" and start to worry.

Thanks, stella!

5. Retro's. . . like any other astro influence
are not inherently negative.

Maybe think of them as deepening or clearing or centering influences and maybe you won't be so-o-o spooked.

Or as I say really loudly to new clients when the express trepidation about getting a reading, "BOO !!! There now that we've gotten any extraneous fear out of the way, what do you want to talk about?" :)

4. Monday 19th could be revolutionary...
Maya on her wonderfil site: www.daykeeperjournal.com says for June 19th: "We also have 2 yods, or 'Fingers Of God"--so called because related events tend to happen in a sudden, often drastic and fated manner.

"To top off the heavy action, Uranus is stationary and turning retrograde today. A stationary planet is like a laser bearing down on events.

"Uranus is the first of the outer planets. With it's energy we move beyond our conventional world. Uranus breaks through old barriers to catalyze revolutionary change.

"Every planet today is stimulated.

"Take time out today (19th) for some deep breaths."

7. This is probably going to irk some of you, but: this works for me.

And I'm happy that I Have A Dream posted an update because I had completely forgotten all about this retrograde. Totally. And I don't know HOW it slipped my mind.

I've already seen some bizarre turns of events in my own life this past week, probably as a warm-up for the retrograde. Uranus, unless I'm losing my mind again, is in my third house at the moment, which is probably why the weird, unexpected trip ups have related to my sister. She randomly showed up again at my parents' house (in my city) this week (flew up from California, where she had been preparing to move in with and marry her boyfriend of two years, whom I can't stand). According to my parents, there are some strange, last minute re-arrangements going on with my sister's wedding...and, well, after the brief convo I had with her this weekend, much to my joy, I'm starting to doubt that there will be a wedding! Which will spare my sister the agony of being officially married to a controlling, pathetic, substance-abusing misogynist fuckwit who only wants to be with her so he can use her as a breeding device! And from a selfish perspective, I personally may now be relieved of the guilt I have been feeling over my decision not to interfere in my sister's horrible decisions. I'd decided that adults have the right to make their own mistakes, or, you know, ruin their lives, and if she wants to ruin hers, so be it. Nothing I can do. Which was making me feel terrible.

Hooray Uranus! Let's have more Uranian disruption! Bring on the crazy, beautiful change! Woo hoo!

12. Let's disrupt the hell out of things.
Because obviously "normal" really isn't working for the world...

15. Woah, hold up. I'm a little bit less enthusiastic about the Uranus now.
Edited on Tue Jun-20-06 04:02 AM by BlueIris
The Uranus, though it did bring with it the possibility that my sister will not marry a drug addicted, misogynist waste of space, also brought with it my sister's presence in my house...for three weeks, (long story) the sudden death of my car's transmission, scads of broken appliances and the biggest pile of suppressed rage I've had to deal with in ages. Not pretty. Also, it's June 20, and it's freezing outside. I live in the most temperate climate on this planet. I mean, I hope the Uranus is treating the rest of you okay, but it's...not doing anything good for me so far. Crazy, beautiful change could be nice, but a big, fat, unpredictable pile of shit I don't need or deserve to go along with it certainly is not.

17. Strange coincidence, my household has been in an uproar
since the end of late May. Packing and moving across the pond. Went to visit my mom, while there, she passed out and fell backwards down her stairs and shattered her wrist. Lots of strange and unsettling shit since the end of May. Now in new home (across the ocean) and feeling lots of anxiety. My Uranus is natal retro anyhow, so who knows what that means with this transit?

I hear ya sista! Enough is enough...

18. Oh, does a retrograde *natal* Uranus make it worse?
I have one of those, too. On my ascendent. Which is supposed to make me evil.

20. Yeah, personally I don't think I could do "evil" very well, either.
Cranky? Check. Bratty? Sure. Irritated, insoucient or enraged in the presence of neoconservatives? You bet. But evil would be kind of a stretch for me. I kinda like my soul, and that pesky social contract we've all adhered to.

Work on my novel, clear away other long-undone projects that I've been procrastinating on finishing. A broken car and a need to take my mind of the choas around me actually did make me more motivated to get a leg up on my writing and the completion of some other commitments. As soon as I'd gotten back into the process of closing out old obligations, the nutty around me kinda settled down. For now.
