Full Moon in Taurus - Sunday, November 5, 2006 - 7:58am EST
Intuitive Message for the Taurus Full Moon:
The Work of Spirit
by Julia Bondi

Sun 12.58 Scorpio
Moon at 12.58 Taurus

Darkness…shorter days and longer nights, the storms of approaching winter, brutal negative ads in an ever more mean-spirited election, chaos and mounting death in Iraq. Our world feels dark and heavy. Death, loss, fear, and oblivion are the realms of Scorpio where we are painfully reminded of our separateness, of our capacity to hate and to hurt and our own inner darkness and evil. Yet it is Scorpio that contains the mysteries of life, the secrets of sacred sexuality, and the desire to merge with another and with our greater Self. Temptation and healing, power and transcendence these are the paradoxes of Scorpio. Here the battle rages. The battle for our soul will yield an agent of creative change or an agent of deception. Will we follow the disciple Luke as he called us to the work of spirit saying "he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor: he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are oppressed." How can we become the healers, the caregivers, the awakened beings the world seeks?

James Baldwin, who struggled with all of the darkness that a human being who suffers and sees can know and who still cried out for justice and healing, told us the way to become the transformative agents of creative change we are meant to become. He came to know himself as a man both sacred and profane. Baldwin wrote: "We know, in the case of the person, that whoever cannot tell himself the truth about his past is trapped in it, is immobilized in the prison of his undiscovered self. This is also true of nations."

Scorpio’s season is the time to enter the dark, inner realm of our secrets, to find the truths about our past, our motives, our fears, our self-sabotage, our pain and all of the tricks we have developed to project these dark realities outside of ourselves onto others. This is the sacred work of the liberation of our soul. The creative fight to develop ever more consciousness as we seek to know our light self and our dark self is the path to re-channeling our defenses into more creative life giving outlets. In the fixity of Scorpio and its opposite Taurus we meet our resistance, our habits, our desires, our clinging to what was, our rage at having to let go, and our terrors. In these same archetypes that confine us are the keys to liberation. Taurus offers the sweetness of kindness, contentment, and the beauty that surrounds us in ourselves, our world and others. Scorpio reveals the unlimited power of surrender. In Taurus and Scorpio we can find the letting go that leads to knowledge and wisdom. As we free our whole self from the separateness of personal ego seeking to retain its illusory control of our lives, the life force begins to release its procreative power. Then we are no longer in our previous state of existence and we have become a divine agent of healing and change.

2. Don't get me started.

I'm one of the infamous Taurus sun/Scoprio rising folks around here. This full moon is only frustrating my indecision and confusion. It's also not really doing anything for my ability to draw or retain the financial rewards I deserve. I'm sure I'll regret doing this later, but: sometimes astrology and the so-called "insights" it can provide us with...are useless.
