1. It's certainly a hopeful message.
It seems that it's up to us to not let up the light work that was started to keep the neo-cons out of power.

I thought it was interesting that the blackmail of Congress members was mentioned. I too have felt all along that they were threatened with past indiscretions being revealed.

I've had that sense as well.

Ever since Wellstone's curious demise and the anthrax scare targeting liberals and journalists, I've known these guys are playing hardball.

Yet this message coupled with Matthew's recent one have elucidated not only what we are up against but perhaps our prayers and visualization may have had an influence, albeit immeasurable.

Let's maybe stay dedicated in keeping it up.

on edit-added apostrophe-this Merc retro in my 3rd is driving me bananas

3. I think this is very hopeful

after reading (another website) that nothing would change no matter who was elected. In this at least we have hope.

Do you think that all of the "older" congressional members are threatened or bought off at some level? Reading gd moments ago there is a battle brewing over the gov. negotiating drug prices and it's being spun into the gov insuring (health) the nation by the republicans! Yikes.

Edit: trying to clarify what I mean

4. Well
I've sensed that there has been unprecedented blackmail and coercion for a long while.

Some of it is fairly strightforward and obvious with them beholden to the interests of corporations as opposed to that of their constituents. That is how we so desperately need campaign finance reform.

I mean. . .how crazy is the extreme disparity between what it costs to get elected versus government salaries.

The fact that anyone who serves in the Senate continues to get FULL salary and bennies till they die is terribly suspect as well.

But the majority of Dems' tepid and marginalized responses to the blatant treason, corruption, distortions, and eviceration of our Constitutional rights has been staggering so something's been foul in DC for far too long.

The nefarious nature of the pharmaceutical lobbies doesn't have a whole lot to do with healing or well being. It's all about having life long customers and is, in more ways than one, sickening.

Still I'm glad you found this to be hopeful. I did as well.

Still I am hopeful about the restoration of checks and balances.

That's the best thing that's happened in a long time.

5. I like it.
But I have to say, I'll believe it when I see it. I woke up last Wednesday thinking "What's the catch?".

Bill

PS - How do you spell "wotdoyathink" wrongly?

with great difficulty.

Yup they've got a plan B for sure. Firing Rummy and installing an unappointed Baker.

Wanting to certify that master of diplomacy, Bolten and legalize unwarranted wiretaps during a lame duck session.

Bananas I swear.

What do you expect in a country that has inexplicably morphed into a Banana Republic.

Yikes.

Still restoration of a modicum of checks and balances is a good thing for sure.

on edit-more Merc retro typos. . .Yikes
