Question about Negative Prayers? |
|
With this whole business with Sen. Johnson, I was reminded of the issue of negative prayers when a very alert DU'er caught a post at freerepublic. When I was raised, I was taught that negative prayers aren't answered. Is that, in your view, wrong? Do you believe that someone making a negative prayer has any effect on the person making the prayer? If so, what? It frankly sickened me when I first found out about this idea and still does.

1. Not sure what you mean? |
|
what is a negative prayer? And how does it sicken you? Please tell more? Are you talking about a curse? Curses do have action. And, yes, they do harm the giver more than anyone else.

4. Well, I guess it could be called that. |
|
I mean I was disgusted by the idea of someone praying for someone's condition to worsen, rather than improve.

what OhioB and Rumpel have added to the thread.
Especially that we can ask for cleansing and that Light is the solution for dark.
If it was you who "prayed" for harm for someone else, you won't be the first. Really what it means is that you/whoever is praying to learn the lesson that they believe someone 'out there' needs to learn.
As Spirit has taught me, I am unity, the same, I cannot wish a harm on someone else, without it being a harm on me.
A condition to worsen? Sometimes conditions do worsen, and then get a lot better.
If there is someone who is praying, as if they know the best outcome? Again, my belief is that they are asking to be shown the way to prayer is pouring our heart out. But not for someone's destruction. The prayer is answered when we pray thus, Thy Will Be Done. Nothing is impossible in Your Name.
Seems to me the only possible reason someone would pray for a worse condition, is they need something. And are very misguided about how to acheive what they need.

protective (shield) energy - so it will bounce off, ask the Universe to absorb and cleanse and will render it harmless.
and yes, I also believe a curse will do exponential harm onto the one sending it.

3. Darkness in whatever form has no power in the presence of the light |
|
Or at least it isn't nearly as powerful.
Those who deliberately pray to harm are setting themselves up for a big hurt.

6. That person isn't praying. He/she is cursing the person. |

What terrible karma they're bringing on themselves. The intention is what matters, and their intention is to seriously harm, if not kill, the senator. :(
On edit: I just saw the previous discussion about curses. I hadn't read them previously. May the senator be protected by powerful white light and protective energy.
