Does anyone here do readings using playing cards? |
|
If so, how did you learn?

can read from pretty much any deck.
I have a blast with a deck purchased by a dear younger friend at a Roman fleamarket. The labels are all in Italian.
I call them my Italian flash cards. Only about 4 or them resemble traditional tarot cards. They are a total hoot.
The most bizarre ones are of two different threesomes cavorting through a day. One of the two threesomes get increasinly happy and joyous. The other threesome gets really insufferably drunk. Then there is a card with a guy holding a gun to his head and the label seems to read. . . desperation from jeolousy.
There are other really lovely and inspiring ones as well. They seem to be a repro from Victorian times judging by the clothing depicted in the images. They crack me up totally.

2. I learned on a regular deck and graduated to Tarot after. |
|
I learned from a friend of mine. A regular deck can offer a lot of information. Don't look down your nose at it.

5. Oh no, not looking down my nose at it |
|
I feel more of a pull towards this type of divination, which is why I'm asking if anyone reads them and how they learned to do so. I don't, or try not to, look down my nose at any type of divination. :hi:

3. The suits in playing cards are directly related to the suits in Tarot. |
|
Hearts=Cups Spades=Swords Clubs=Wands Diamonds=Coins
Cups usually are associated with issues of the heart or emotions. Diamonds are business or money matters, Spades with movement or strife, and Clubs with careers, business enterprises and work.
If you then use the numerological associations for each number you start to make some sense of it.
I was always told that the playing cards we know now are actually a derivative of Tarot decks.
Regards!
