5. Remarkable huh! When I started this thread I really wanted to hear

from someone who could point out the occurrances of historical dates that coincided with Pluto's shift, such as this one into Capricorn.
I wasn't looking for an argument as to the validity of astrology, but rather the from a political perspective.
I was amazed that it lasted as long as it did.
Its move to the lounge was kind of insulting since the lounge seems to carry the least serious minded people. I guess I am satisfied with the responders I got, and do say hello to some familiar names. You fought a great battle against 'the detractors'. ha

Maybe some who read the thread but didn't respond, will be curious enough as to the subject to research further on their own.

6. Oh don't take it personally.

I posted two threads over the last year that got on the greatest page, one of which later got demoted to the Lounge (for containing these two words "Happy Eclipse") and the most recent one got demoted to the bowels of the Religion & Theology forum where the atheists and agnostics ironically preside.

You can see how the responses shifted totally after they moved it after post #81.

You really just have to shrug these things off.

It's rumored that Skinner loathes astrology so we are just blessed to have this forum and glad you can now enjoy it.

I have started threads that were hidden on the 2nd page within 60 seconds.
Well now that I'm aware of how he feels about astrology, maybe we should do Skinner's chart. ha
Am grateful that we are allowed this place to post, however.

9. Interestingly, this group is one of the most successful groups at DU.

I think that only the John Kerry forum and the Countdown (Keith Olbermann) forum have more posts.

Regardless of what anyone here at DU thinks, there are lots of progressives who are interested in the subjects that this group discusses.

This group is our safe haven most days. (We occasionally have flare-ups here, but they are really quite rare.)

10. The fur was flying indeed. I have a friend who used to be my housemate.

She was a California girl who had lived in Hong Kong and London and had affected a British accent. She would ask total strangers "are you all right dahrling. . .?" in that lyrical way Brits have of singing a question ending it on a lower note.

She used to come to the kitchen in the morning for coffee and that was the first thing out of her mouth when I was musing on the universe.

After hearing that question for the brazilionth time, I roared "the only appropriate answer to that question is that "it's a matter of opinion.""

Yeah I'm okay. I had a bit of a melt down last night after it was over from trotsky fallout but I wasn't gonna relent given his history with someone I care about deeply.

Really one has to take those kinds of things fairly lightly. Normally I'm more playful about it but what the heck.
