"gunman no longer a threat."
No details as yet.
I work with college kids a lot so these sorts of scenarios always get to me.
Thanks to all the good wishing lurkers.

I'm sending energy to everyone who was involved in this situation.

He was just telling me a couple of weeks ago about being an udergrad adviser this semester. I have no idea how he's doing with it all, but I suspect his world has been turned on end. My Mom called earlier this morning to tell me that both of our two family members (second cousins) that attend NIU have checked in and are physically ok. One is in Law School the other is an undergrad but was thankfully nowhere near the shootings.
I was on the phone this morning with my office mate (and good friend) who called to remind me we that we both know the shooter's sibling. I will not go into any more detail than that, but I will say the family is in a huge amount of pain and I do hope you will all offer up support and prayers for them. They not only lost one they care, for but also feel a sense of guilt for what he did. I suspect that at this point in time many are asking what they could have done to stop this from happening, but none any more than his family and Friends.
Please send energy and prayers for the families and for everyone else impacted by this tragedy. They need your help and strength very much right now.

7. Love and light to all the families and friends involved. |

I preemptively typed that there were no casualties and sadly I was wrong.
Psychiatric meds often times suck.
Blessings to all of them.

just to direct your light in a more focused direction. :)
Thanks for the thread... many of our friends and their children are involved at Northern as teachers, admin staff or students. This has been very traumatic for them and the whole greater community. One of my son's friends skipped class or else he would have been there. Too close to tragedy. Can't imagine what it's like for the poor families of the victims.
