Maybe you all could send a little light to my husband? |
|
He is thinking of retiring from his job, but he's uncertain. He goes back and forth, I think because he's afraid of the change. He has his pension, and while money would be a bit tight, we'd get by. It's only money, I say. He's pretty miserable at work right now and that's taking a toll too. I think he would be much happier if he was out of there. He's such a free spirit, and they are really trying to stuff him into a box that doesn't fit.
:hippie:
Just one example: He works in an environmental area, used to go out in the field quite a bit. He has long had a fondness for Hawaiian shirts. He likes to wear sandles in the summer. Last year, he got tapped to manage this great big project (after the other project manager went on medical leave because the project burned him out!). The project was in a little trouble, too. He took that project and turned it around, brought everything in on deadline, really worked some wonders. His reward? Don't wear those Hawaiian shirts and sandles to the office anymore, buddy.
:argh:
So I think he should retire, but maybe you all could send him some light to help him find the right decision for him? Thanks!

1. I can really empathize with what he's going through, Callie. |
|
It's amazing what we're willing to put up with for financial security and because of a fear of change. (I speak from experience.)
I will certainly send him light with the intent that it help to clearly illuminate for him the best path for him and your family.

else that he really loves on a part time basis. This man deserves to wear his Hawaiian shirts and sandals full time!
Sending love and light to you and your husband.

and look for another one with less aggravation.
My husband took an early retirement/buyout offer last year from a company that is extremely high-stress and seems to revel in making its workers miserable. As soon as he posted his resume on Dice, he was inundated with calls from head-hunters, and found a decent job very quickly. He is much happier.
In any case, sending good vibes to your husband for finding a solution that works best for everyone.
