Thanks to all who sent vibes! I just got back from a sojourn to Borders, after having told my roommates about a strange growling coming from one of our bathroom closets. (They said they would check under that part of the house again, in case she had not been eaten by a large bird but instead gotten stuck someplace.) And there were my roommates, playing with our lost cat! Well, it might be more accurate to say they were feeding her water through an eye dropper (she's very dehydrated). She...actually wasn't under the house, she was stuck between a water heater and the wall in that bathroom. It was a close call, and she's obviously freaked out and sort of gorked, but it looks like she'll make it. I haven't heard the whole story yet, but supposedly one of the 'mates pulled off a rescue of MacGyver.
Thanks again (nice to have good news to post for a change). We're still planning on fixing the back fence, of course.

1. That is such good news, BI. |

Your prior post was just so sad. I had a Maine Coon who had a barely audible mew. He went missing but we found him a couple of days later locked in the shed. He followed us everywhere.
I could not be happier for you all.

I'm just glad they found her in time. And a part of me is still kind of going, "I knew it!" That she couldn't have been picked off by the coyotes because...she just never goes outside.

21. I know. That WAS about the saddest part of it. |

If a neophyte kitty got grabbed :sob: :sob: I'm glad she stays in.
In another place I lived, our cats were able to keep the raccoons away, but I did hear little fights in the leaves outside at night sometimes. I don't think it was the cats fighting though. They never showed any damage.
How many do you have left? How old are they now?

Gosh I almost accidentally typed "great mews."
Cats just get stuck places...............(my experience). I figure you guys would have heard about a coyote in the neighborhood.
Give MacGyver a lot of love. Know you will!!

I was just wondering about your first missing kitty after your sad e-mail yesterday about your other cat. So glad you have some good news to report!
And dang, don't those cats end up in the weirdest places? Because our house is still undergoing renovations (for-ev-er...it seems...), the plywood panel that allows access to the tub plumbing, inside a gutted linen closet, is not secured, just blocked with some 2 x 6s for now. If for any reason that panel gets moved even a HAIR, our cats compete to see who can get behind it and cram themselves between the side of the tub and the wall. Why? Who the f*** knows!

I am so happy for you all.
How long has it been? It's been weeks since the little one disappeared.
Oh dear, I see now that this was another cat. I missed your post on this one gone missing. I'm glad this one was found.
