What is the significance of the Full Moon on July 17th?

This historic, global shift will begin on July 17th, the "Full Moon of the Guru" or Guru Purnima, an ancient tradition on the eastern calendar. It is the full moon in July/Aug that falls near the vedic solstice, the month of greatest light. It is a radiant time when all the celestial teachers, light beings, ascended masters, angels and illumined ones open channels into the earth plane and act as conduits to deliver increased levels of energy and light into the world. It represents spiritual renewal of the planet. The moon is associated with consciousness, particularly with the right brain. Each phase of the moon carries its own special energy. The full moon represents enlightenment, which is the full flowering of consciousness.

This initiatory window of the full moon, which runs from 2:20am ET on the 17th to 3:59am ET on the 18th, will open a new period of human evolution in which more light will be available for rapid human awakening. This awakening will deepen over the coming months and years.

3. I had never heard of him

but when I watched one of the videos, the preparation meditation - he sang the familiar tune Arthur sings for the deeksha.
This man has an interesting gaze...don't know quite what to make of it.

I am so happy that there are no clouds yesterday or today and I can see and feel my favorite: full moon. It simply soothes my soul.

2. This is interesting.

I recently resumed doing the complete set of falun dafa chi gong exercises.One thing I can say about this time is that it is starting to show rsults a lot quicker this time around.Especially the capability of seeing peoples light bodies.Usually it takes a few weeks to reach this stage,However,this time around that latent ability started manifesting almost immediately.

I would recommend reading the 1998 version of Zhuan Falun first.

The exercises are like a form of chi gong that open all of the bodies meridians at once.Here is what Master Li teaches about them.-http://www.falundafa.org/book/eng/dymf_3_2006.htm

As for what I call light bodies all I can really say is this-When I am doing the exercises with my eyes closed I can see the chi energy flowing through my body while doing the hand and arm movements.If I have been doing the exercise long enough I can see others energy feilds also.
A word of warning though.If you start the dafa cultivations with the goal of gaining this capability you WILL NOT gain it.There is something about dafa that shuts down any latent potentialities if they are deliberately sought out.The fact that I brought it up means I will probably loose that particular ability.

Another warning.When a person starts Falun Cultivations one will go through a period called trials and tribulations. http://www.falundafa.org/book/eng/zfl_new_6.html (this phenomenon is also talked about in other writings of Master Li.)
Having your view of reality undergo such a radical change can really be disconcerting to yourself and those around you.Knowing what to expect makes it a lot easier accept.

Most importantly,one cannot follow other cultivation methods while doing Falun Gong.Falun uses a differant energy mechanism that can be damaged when mixed with other energy mechanisms.Mixing them can cause serious problems. Last November I spent a weekend with a group that practices Tibettan Tantrics.While I did not actually take part in their tantrics it still had a negative effect on me.It took several weeks to return to normal and you better believe I caught a lot of flack from the local teaching assistants about it.
Whats worse is that it also had a bad effect on some of them.What really really sucks is that there was nothing I could do to help them.Any attempt to do so would have just caused further harm to them and myself.
That really sucked.

Now,having dropped all this doom and gloom about Falun dafa on you,I must say I think everything that has come about in my life from it has been worth it.The good and the bad have been very instructive in improving my xinxing and for removing karma and I would not trade it for anything.

9. Interesting.

I unaccountably woke up at about 2am this morning; after thrashing around a bit, I got up with a book and went to my recliner in the living room, with a book and a blanket. The front door was open to let the cool night breeze in, and at one point I looked up and noticed the full moon shining right in on me. I was pleased. If I'd read this, I probably would have gone out to sit on the deck, to take a complete "moon bath."

I eventually went back to sleep, and slept peacefully until about 6:30 this morning.

I definitely experienced a literal awakening. I hope I was open enough for a deeper awakenening, as well.

10. Kind of off topic, but the coyotes were really

howling at the moon last night some of them on the other side of the fence from me, fifteen feet away. I wonder how this affects them?
