I'm in a business situation with someone who is making my life a living hell. Someone who is very controlling and seems to relish power struggles...:wtf: Precisely the sort of thing I have no time or energy for.
Can anyone advise? I've tried talking to this person reasonably and it is not possible--he's extremely hot-headed. It's a situation I can't escape, but I need a coping mechanism! Help!
Oh, and I'm a Leo, if that helps any...

1. Here's something that's been working for me lately: Bach's Heather and Beech essences. |

Little known thing about Bach's essences: they can have an effect on the moods of people around you. Beech doesn't do I damn thing for me, but whenever I use it, it mellows my roommates right out.
I think it would also be good to shield yourself from this person's pathology, so I recommend Bach's Walnut essence, which is great for shielding, and maybe a nice piece of fluorite. I looooove flourite as it is very protective (1 1/2 times amethyst) and soothing.
"The Worst Case Scenario Survival Guide: Work" could be helpful to you, as it details various strategies for dealing with psycho coworkers. I also recommend the book "Living Successfully With Screwed Up People" and Dr. Perry Buffington's "Cheap Psychological Tricks" (which has good tips on how to defuse angry people).
You could try asking your guides to help you out. Even if you feel oblivious to them, they're probably still around. My guides have been helping me out a lot in the last couple of months.

was to talk to that person's higher self.

Ask your higher self to work in concert with their higher self and see if they can come to a compromise. I've heard that suggestion lots of times recently - not sure why but that usually means I need to pay attention to it and I'm passing it along to you.
Also, if you have an oil diffuser, you might want to get something like Young Living's Peace and Calming essential oil and diffuse it into the work area. It really has no smell and it's amazing what something like that will do because it works on an energetic/vibrational level.
Let us know how things work out.
Peace

4. On a less spiritual note |
|
is there anyone else who can act as a liaison, a buffer, between you and this person? So that you don't have to deal directly with him and his controlling behavior.
If not, my advice, based on similar personal experience, is to document everything. Save every email. After every conversation, write down what was discussed and agreed to and email him that info for corraboration. It may not change his behavior, but it may make you feel better. And knowing that you are keeping a close watch on him may prompt him to be a little less outrageous in his maneuvering.

is not entirely in the spirit of this forum, if you can take a little time every day to do some knitting, crocheting, embroidery, or any other kind of hand work you'll find that to be calming.
Some years back when I was in a very stressful job I took up crocheting, and it made a huge difference. I'd come home from work, crochet a few rows of the afghan I was making, and all the anger and bad energy that was inside me would just dissipate. Plus, at the end I had an afghan!
And of course don't interpret this as a taking away from any other spiritual way of dealing with this situation.

bad exchange with someone. I will PM you if you are interested, I do not want to go into all the details here.

7. Thank you all for your input here. |

I am taking some of these steps into consideration. Although, I don't understand how to communicate with someone else's higher self.
