Something was pulling off my covers last night
For some reason, I was not afraid, but just noticed how slowly they were being pulled down.
I laid still, kind of interested to see how long this was going to continue.

Then logic took over and I figured it was the heaviness of my top blanket trying to fall on the floor.... I turned around to look, but no, the top blanket was piled at the foot of the bed.

There were no animals in my room and my bedroom door was shut.

Has this happened to anyone else?

1. Only when I lived with a poltergeist...
whatever that is.

No, seriously, you have the right attitude. Investigate it. Most people freak completely out. Make sure you eliminate all possible reasons why it is happening.

2. Well, I am going to bed now,
I almost wish it would happen again. I sleep with a small nightlite on my nightstand, so I can actually SEE in the dim light.

3. Years ago in an apartment I was living in I used to wake up
with the sensation of something sitting on the bed next to me, yet when I looked there was nothing there. No blanket pulling though. There was a woman who had been murdered in the building before I moved in. I wondered if it was her. I didn't have any other manifestation though other than the bed sinking in that spot.

9. I've heard of blankets being yanked off people's beds in the
middle of the night-- never experienced it personally, though.

4. Have you lost anyone dear to you recently?
The night that my Dad died in hospice, he came to my house and knocked 3 times on the outside wall of my bedroom. It was so loud that I got up and checked outside for animals or intruders, but there was nothing there. It turns out that it was at the exact hour that he passed. The next morning I asked my husband if he heard anything (he slept in his own room due to sleep apnea, and loud snoring) He said he'd heard it also. When I mentioned it to the funeral director when I was making the arrangements, he referred to it as a "whisper from God". It had happened to him when he lost his Dad. Maybe someone you know passed and was letting you know?? Once when my eldest son was in the midst of a spiritual turmoil, he said that someone woke him up by "floating" his sheets up over his head, and told him God does exist! (his wife was sound asleep!!!

5. ghost cat likes to hog the blankets and be comfy.

honestly, i don't know. could be many things. could be your place resides on a Mystery Spot like that one in Santa Cruz! actually that's just silly, you'd be living on a slant and watch bottles roll up and off wedges. could be a phantom peeping tom! :wow: could be a prankster poltergeist who likes shorting sheets as the last bit of fun in an otherwise boring and tedious afterlife. :freak: which is actually rather sad, i'd be bored if that's all i'm left to do.

but still, i think ghost cat. sounds more fun.

6. something similar
Has this happened to anyone else?

Well, not exactly the blankets moving down but when my cat Bitsey crossed over, on several occasions I saw her footprints coming toward me on the sheets. We have big, fluffy down comforters and at that time, plaid sheets. I can recall the little footprints coming toward me.

Like you, I was not afraid. It was just very sweet and I knew right away, of course, who is was.

Has someone close to you crossed over? Is this the anniversary of a death?

I think that as the vibrational levels change, incidents like this will become more frequent.

7. Nobody close to me (that I know of) has passed recently,
nor is it the anniversary of a death.
Hmmmm, it would be a long shot, but my birthday was 8/15, my brother's is 9/15. Our mother's death destroyed our relationship, plus he had became a huge fundy.
The date it happened was almost smack dab in the middle of our two b-days.

Maybe momma ain't too happy that her young'uns aren't talking.
If it happens again, maybe I should say, "mom, is that you?"

I would love the idea of a dear pet coming to visit me.

It would be my pleasure to receive more experiences of this type.

11. That is a very STRONG possibility,
regarding your Mom who's passed. If you read my post above, when I spoke of my Son having a similar experience, I forgot to mention that his spiritual problem had to do with his Dad dying in hospice. They were estranged (long story, he and I were divorced and not on good terms) I begged and pleaded with my son to go visit his father. I told him he would be sorry for the rest of his life if he didn't. Still he refused.......until the night of the sheet incident. I spoke to him today, and he reminded me that he also felt a "breath" or wind in his ear, and it so shook him up that he agreed to see his dad if I would go with him, which I did. We all reconciled the first time we went. He went back alone a few days later, and was there with his sister and her family when his dad passed. He called me when he was on his way home and said "Mom, he's gone, but he looked at me straight in the eye, and I knew it was all forgiven." My son and I have never been closer. Before he was a daddy's boy after our divorce, and didn't want much to do with me. Sorry I dragged this out so long, but it's so good to be able to talk about it with friends and folks who UNDERSTAND!!:grouphug: DC

10. My Opa came to visit me when he died
I was only 6 yrs old and was in bed and felt him touch me on my foot. I knew he was saying goodbye.

I remember going out to the living room and telling my Dad that Opa (german for grandfather)had died. It turned out that I was right, but I knew it all along.

I really adored my Opa.

Oh, and no, I was not afraid. I was more "curious" to see how long it would continue.

12. My blanket floated about 2 ft. above my bed.
My husband had just moved into my house with me. It had been my grandpa's house. He had recently passed away after being in a nursing home for several years dying from Parkinson's. I had lived in his house for several years and had always had my bed at the end of a big room that had previously been two rooms in my Grandpa's time. We decided to move the bed to the front of the room. This was a big ordeal since it was a waterbed. Earlier in the evening while we were dismantling the bed and relocating it we took a beer break with my roommate and several times our beers slid across the nightstand as if it was tilted (it wasn't). This kinda freaked us out but we laughed it off and even said it was Grandpa messing with us.

Later that night I suddenly awoke and saw the blanket floating over the bed. I reached for it to pull it down and it didn't come down. Then I realized my husband was reaching for it too and we both gave it a yank and it floated down to the bed. We both laid there for a minute or two and I turned to him and asked "Was our blanket floating?" he said "Yes." I jumped out of bed and beelined for the bathroom so I wouldn't pee my pants. Then we went back to sleep.

We only left the bed there for a week or so, it did not feel right to me. So we moved it back. The floating blanket never happened again.

15. I would say it was about 2 ft. just past arm's length. We had to sit up a little to grab it.
It was very wild but very real. This was almost over 20 years ago and I remember it like it was last night.
