Anyone know where this came from?
I got this in an email from a friend, but he didn't have a link to the Obama blog where it came from:

"This approach is based on quantum physics, prayer studies, and transcendental meditation groups that have meditated in areas and reduced fighting, crime, etc. There is also the critical mass theory.

The intention is to open the heart and mind of voters so they may see what is true and authentic. This is creating expansion. I believe if people know what is true about each candidate most will vote for Barack. Our goal is to energetically/spiritually aid them in the opening to what is; not to what the candidates want them to believe. If our action is empowering but not manipulating a specific result there is nothing to resist. We are opening a door and they choose if they want to walk through.

Our intention is to focus on the people in each state who don't know the facts and are most willing "to open." And in that group of willing people we focus on the ones who have the highest probability of voting for Barack. And in that group we focus on the expansion/opening of those who will "open" sooner rather than later. I am narrowing the scope so the percentage of people praying/expanding/opening/sending love is larger. The greater are numbers in the ratio; often the more powerful the impact can be. When we narrow our target we increase our power. In the Transcendental Meditation studies they found that 1% of the population targeted showed some dramatic results. There is also critical mass. Reach a particular number and things can "explode." and affect similar groups elsewhere.

The key is to not be attached to results. Have fun. Enjoy. Expand your own field. Love."

1. Hi ayesha,
Not sure who this came from, but it sounds a lot like experiments in DC years ago that Gregg Braeden speaks of. Interesting about focusing on a narrow group, but the 1% figure sounds along the lines of Braeden's research.

2. It sounds like things I've
heard, and seen, applied in many other areas.

Never political, though. I'm a little taken back by a political use, to be honest.

What if what is "true and authentic" about ANY of the candidates is not positive? While it's easy to make an argument that Obama is preferable to McCain, to promote Obama as a spiritual representative of truth and authenticity, imo, is unethical.

As well as false.

If the focus were not on a particular candidate, but on the nations highest good, and on the most positive outcome for November elections, without regard to parties or individual candidates, I'd be more comfortable with it.

3. I understand exactly where you are coming from
we can't always tell what will be for the highest good. Appearances and perceptions often hide from us the Divine Light of guidance.

4. I think the thread about Doreen Virtue,
a little further down the page, is a good illustration.

Focusing, not on the personalities, but on the highest good.

I don't have to hold any particular view about any particular candidate or politician to do that, and to know that we're heading that way regardless of the election.

It's also a good meditation for those like me; those who are conflicted about the choices at the ballot box this November. Which is the choice most in harmony with the nation's highest good?

I've got another 6 weeks or so to meditate.

With (almost) everything you said. I am solidly behind Obama. imo, he is the better choice by far.
However, my focus will have to be on the nation and world's highest good, no matter.
I still have big doubts that "things work out the way they are supposed to". Maybe that's almost logical. I'm more in the school of all potentialities existing simultaneously. And the butterfly effect.

There have been huge group healings at DU in which I could not participate. I just didn't get the "go". There have been live, local groups as well. For one, I could "see" the colored lights flowing to the subject (she was in China), but did not have permission to add anything. There was a powerful healer there that night, and I could also sense his power. I think harm can be done if care isn't taken to ASK what to do. Sometimes the answer is, nothing, or just observe. That's just me. Anyone else's MMV.

8. what I do when unsure of permission
Usually I send directing it to the highself of the person with the intention that if the person does not want it or it does not serve their highest good that the energy to do anyone nearby that it would serve that person's highest good.

Politically I am leary of tampering so I focus on sending for the highest good including to reveal truth and bring about justice where there is any wrong doing. In my personal opinion this will only help the canidates that I support but I don't send directly for that. I *do* admit I send to clear away any bad vibes directed at them specifically.

Accentuate the Positive
Transmute the Negative

7. Every day at school when we have "the moment of silence" (8:00 AM)
I ask the Universe to open the minds & eyes of those who are blind to what is happening to our Great Nation, so we can better help all the people of our planet.
