I need to vent before I blow my stack :-( |
|
This is in reference to the Inauguration Ball that our local Democratic Party is throwing.
I really wanted to attend the Big Bash @ the *Hilton Downtown, however, I don't have the $75 to be a part of the celebration. I wrote our TCDP executive admin about how unfair it was leaving out so many less fortunate people who worked so hard for the Democratic Party being excluded from the Historical Celebration.
I never received a reply. Someone I know, spoke to him about me and was told there will be no free admissions and besides I worked on the Obama Campaign.:wtf:
Well excuse me, but I became a Precinct Chair for the DEMOCRATIC PARTY, not the Obama Party. I couldn't believe that he is still holding a grudge because I did not support Hillary Clinton during the primaries. I worked my butt off for the TCDP, and this is obviously how I'm viewed by the EA, not as a Democrat but as solely an Obama supporter.:grr:
I would like to air this out with our Chairman and find out what his take is on this issue. Because if he feels the same way about it, then I should resign my PC position. I guess this is the reason we had so many vacancies with Precinct Chairs.
Sorry how I just had to vent.
*Sidenote: The Hilton Hotel is the hotel that JFK spent his last night alive on this Earth. It was called the Texas Hotel back then.

1. Don't apologize for a bit of rightous anger harmlessly dumped on the internet |
|
I am glad you have a safe place to vent instead of letting it raise your bp or reek other havoc on you. Times like that I like to strangle harmless towels and beat up defenseless pillows as well as ranting :)
I hope you feel some relief after posting :grouphug:

3. Thanks Shallah for listening |

I've been working on a shawl that I'm crocheting, since I had a lot left over from making scarves for Xmas presents. And watching mindless sitcoms. That seemed to help while my mind was preoccupied. But after watching those my mind went straight back to thinking about it.
I try real hard not to let nitwits get me down especially people that don't even know me, but I guess I was under the impression we were ALL working for Obama. I'm planning on calling today and talk to him and find out what exactly he meant by his statement.

2. Any way you could work your way into taking on his position? |
|
I am not sure how that works - is it an elected position? If so, I nominate you to take that work on. He doesn't sound much like a leader to me if this is an example of how he makes decisions. A bit of the old school/ol boys network here. Sounds like the job needs someone fresh and inclusive.

4. I wouldn't want his job |
|
I'm not sure if he is an elected official or not, but thanks for your vote of confidence in me and the encouragement.
You are correct about him NOT being a leader. There were a group of people who got together in November '06 for Obama. I didn't get involved until February '08. The Obama Field Organizer assigned to our group was/is an excellent leader. He started out in Iowa, even tho he is from our area.
The EA admitted to us that he received a phone call from our F.O. about having a meeting and getting people involved for a "boots on the ground" approach, and that he (EA) had only been focusing on fundraiser type of activities.
If anyone could replace our current EA, I would want it to be our F.O. He got people organized and willing to work as a community.
My hubby worked on our local Obama website but no one made any money off of it. It was all for free.
Thanks for the input, rosesaylavee

I hate it when people in politics play petty politics with hardworking volunteers. You deserve better treatment than that.
Sending blessings and hoping things work out for you, MM.

6. This is BS from your local or regional chapter? |
|
...hell, I'd write a letter or call the STATE chapter! The Obama campaign and all the smaller dem races that benefited this year are because of people like you or I who called or canvassed, etc. Obama wouldn't want you left out in the cold, there ought to be some "volunteer" or "student" rates for suff like this, where a $5 donation gets you in...it is like a kind of discrimination for income or status... which is total bullshit!
I am on your side 100% and sending ou energy to find a way past the injustice. Part of the Pluto transit is to challenge the status quo and stand in your power as you are. Good luck sistah!
