sad synchronicity (or coincidence, takes your pick) |

Edited on Tue May-05-09 06:55 PM by northernlights
Last night, mercifully, was my last night of the evil oral communications class, when each 6-member team gave its presentation.
One of my team members didn't show up -- her father had died that morning following triple bypass. Another team member had missed 2 weeks (of the 4 we had to prepare) when his father was diagnosed with terminal brain cancer. Another member barely got his part done and arrived just in time....getting home from a funeral in NY. One member told the teacher there had been 4 deaths (forgetting that Larry's father is still with us), so I'm not sure if I'm missing one or not. But I learned today that last night the former head of the MLT program died (her breast cancer invaded her brain stem so she retired just a couple months ago).
This was within 4 weeks, in a group of just 6 people. :wtf: Oh, and 3 of them are about my age...just in their early-mid 50s.

3. I'm so sorry for what happened with your classmates. That's terrible. I'm tempted to blame |

Saturn in Virgo. It's signaled the end for many with outstanding health issues.

Sending light for your classmates who have suffered losses.
FWIW, my first impression when I read your post was that your class is made up of members of your soul group (including your teacher! eek!), and therefore perhaps some members are going to experience similar events at the same time...

Maybe they were brought together in this class so they wouldn't think they were alone in experiencing loss just before I read your post about being in the same soul group. Could be both?

After all, we call upon the members of our soul group to help us with our experiences. :hi:

8. I'm thinking BlueIris and GTRO |

are on the right track.
I doubt they're in my soul group. The class is a one-off requirement -- we are from different majors and won't see each other again. I won't even be taking any more classes at that school. The teacher assigned us to groups 4-5 weeks ago for the final project. Maybe we were brought together for mutual support. Maybe I was stuck in it to remind me that this life is temporary, or provide some stability and continuity through the ins and outs and ups and downs. It was just amazing that there would one degree of separation from so many deaths in such a small group and in such a small time frame -- the last 3 weeks of the project.

9. Eh, you might be surprised |
|
Or perhaps they are in the same soul group and you're not? If you have no feelings toward them one way or another (if they just don't seem to "exist" in your world), then the latter might be the case.
However, I've often been surprised at who has been revealed to be in my soul group (usually long after I've parted ways with the people in question, and often via dreams). And timeframes don't really matter--sometimes people in your soul group come and go fairly quickly. I had a wonderful guardian angel/soul group sister as a good friend for only a few weeks at the end of my grad school stint (when I was under a lot of stress). So...keep an open mind! :hi:

10. they really don't exist in my world |
|
We weren't friends at all. I could barely talk to most of them --until all the deaths happened they would cut me off, roll their eyes and physically turn away. All but one pretty actively disliked me. I wasn't able to connect with any of them at any level, except him, and that was at a superficial, social/professional level.
Actually, their overall effect on me was to push my professional teaming skills to their absolute limit and leave me wanting to never work in a 'project team' again. And already, that feeling has dissipated. I doubt I'd recognize any of them if I ran into them a few weeks from now.
I also didn't feel saddened about any of the deaths, just very detached. I couldn't help but notice that the situation seemed pretty odd.
