Guilt is another form of fear. |
|
This has just come to me recently. There was a time in my life when I felt guilty immediately upon awakening every day. I was in therapy at the time. Should have seen my therapist's face when I told her about that. The past few days, I've had some nagging guilt. It came to me last night that it is in fact, fear. I think that will make it easier to deal with.
Felt compelled to post this before I sign out from the library for now. Peace for all.

1. Truer words were never spoken. |

That's one of the things I've been working at this year, dumping my guilt load. Recognizing the fear gave me a sense of control that I'd been lacking, and I felt more able to address my issues in a proactive, constructive way.

Stillusing 'tools'. I just have to browse when attention is sharp and excess patience. Shutting the drapes is a requirement too I found. :D I know. I'm  (Also a lot of awake time on my hands at the moment ;)
No email, though. I don't even try it.
eta: The first thing I'm using psycho-cybernetics for is to visualize sleep. Need futon

Everything boils down to fear in any of its myriad incarnations. Guilt is fear that we've done something to make others not love us.
Only two things in life: fear and love.

Fear or Love. I was just reminded of that or re-remembered it. I choose Love!

I need to make a sign and put it by my computer. That is awesome...never quite thought of it like that.:)

I have felt like everything boils down to fear as the nasty root for nasty emotions for a long time. I hadn't thought of guilt in that bag until now. It absolutely is "the fear we have caused others not to love us". I can become obsessed with that fear. Like the OP, I used to wake up with guilt, but combined with a huge chunk of fear as companion. The more I work on clearing out old baggage, the better it gets. But sometimes I think the only way to rid myself of guilt is to just find a way to be perfect, that is impossible and false!
Good stuff to contemplate!
