Poll question: Do you read your daily horoscope? Which best describes you?
I personally find daily horoscopes, for the most part, to be one of the main nemesises of true astrology. I feel that people get misled by what is usually greatly oversimplified astrological principles. Nevertheless, I have written a few myself, keeping in mind that I'm trying hard to address the valid archetypal essences beneath each sign. I find that it's very hard to write an accurate, revealing one - but it is doable.

Regarding your daily horoscope, in a newspaper, magazine, online, or via telephone:

Do you read your daily horoscope and which best describes you?

1. No I don't.
I DID get a book from the library: The Complete Idiot's Guide to Astrology (4th Ed.)
Do you have any opinion about that book?

I've been waiting for a clear head before getting too far into it. ~getting there~

6. I've actually taught beginner's class from that book.
Yes, I think it is very good. It's very hard to get started in Astrology, but I think that gives you a good launch.
I've just taught a group that's in their 54th week, 2.5 hours per week. After about 30 weeks, they started to "get it". I don't know how to describe it.

You are really doing well as I've read your posts. Your insight is deepening and you are getting a broader clearer understanding of all things astrological. I don't think there is a "why" as to why this group took 30 weeks. But, it's normal and it just takes time to mix all the angles and signs and planets and aspects, etc.

Just keep at it. Avoid trying "lock down" formulas. Keep reading chart after chart after chart and you'll get it.
You're hooked already!;)

Your chart is very strongly inclined toward astrology with the Chiron opposite Mercury-Uranus in the 12th. You could be phenomenal at it if you keep digging.

After a while, your mind will just tell you when you're reading junk astrology. I stopped reading 20 years ago.
You learn from just watching people. Just like you're doing. Unfortunately, I do a lot of Sun-sign stuff in my newsletters and here because it's just to hard to express the finer stuff.

And it's fun.
You're good - keep at it.

p.s. Boy, that Saturn in your chart is really strong, and that is good!

17. That's very encouraging.
Thank you! I just don't have the level of concentration as in bygone Ages. It seems to be sharpening up here the past couple of days.
Could be the new nutrient cocktail, homeopathy, more meditation, planets ... just my lucky break?

You know, it was only a few weeks ago that I read for the first time (AFAICR):
Planets show What
Signs show How
Houses show Where
!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
That stuff I need to know :headbang:

Your encouragement is Encouraging!

28. No BS
I do want to encourage you HEAVILY because
it's hard to do
your chart is very clear to me, you have natural talent
anybody can do it, but some charts really have a bent towards it
it takes, in my opinion, a strong Uranus and/or Chiron; you have both and in the mix with the 12th house (you were in a past life) and gives strong intuitive skills along with Mercury there!
A true powerhouse of ability
I wish you were in Pittsburgh to join my class
You'd "learn" fast
just keep doing it
keep reading chart after chart after chart
I've seen a huge leap in your knowledge since I came here 2 years ago

2. I don't.
I will occasionally get a chart done, but I never remember the details of that aspect. It's the interpretation details I usually focus upon and remember (most times.)

3. I do read my daily horoscope in the newspaper and online, but I don't usually remember it
I chose the option that it's somewhat telling now and then, because it always seems that when I have a particular drama going on in my life--something really powerful--it speaks to that situation with uncanny accuracy. All the rest of the time it doesn't seem to be accurate at all (which is no great surprise, considering it has to address everyone born under that sign).

read here & see the real value of astrology when it's a serious study and interpretation.

8. Like coolness dude.
I have read some that blow you away, but boy, are they hard to write. You are close to archetypal understanding most of the time so it's no surprise you find some very telling.

People just don't understand (the general public.)

Sometimes I feel like writing a stream of consciousness newsletter about what astrology is NOT.
Mayhaps Stella will help me.

Keep those donuts and beer coming bro.

10. My God, it would be a long newsletter.
Now, it it POLITICALLY CORRECT to say, "My God"? I mean, technically, he, she, it, whatever is not MINE is it? But yet it is?
Maybe we should all say OUR GOD instead?
Or what about St. Mattress Cathedral? You know: "Oh my God, Oh my God"

Or what about the "OMG" tv network? Otherwise known as HGTV. Everytime they show a finished remodeling job the person walks in the room, uncovers their eyes and says, OH MY GOD!

What do you think?
I like how people KNOW what God thinks and what "he" wants. I don't think "he" really cares?! He must, by definition, be pretty laid back, don't you think?

How about the convention in WV where they name the newest dams after the closest towns. This IS true. All of a sudden, they started a new dam next to a tiny WV town named GAD. :headbang:

11. I'd write it in installments.
As far as god goes, yeah, I think it's really laid back. Besides, our free will screws things up and acts as a barrier half the time.

12. I'm loving this dialogue
After all, you're my recruiter here...

Free will, hmmm, what is that?
Wayne Dyer says the only moment we ever have free will is when we decided to follow OUR GOD'S will.

How can one even say OUR? Doesn't that imply that there are more than one of us when the BOOKS says we are only ONE?
God, it's confusing. :hide:

Maybe "laid back" has a state of such "laid backness" that it is simply like a quiet pond?
Is that why it's not PONDerable?

Geez, Metta, maybe YOU should write some sections of my newsletter?
It takes a lot of effort and has no ads?
Maybe I'll put in some tooth-whitening ads?

What would you like to write Metta?
I'm sure it would be cool AND I'M SURE I CAN GET OTHERS HERE TO EGG YOU ON?
Maybe I'll do a POLL on what Mr. Metta should write?

You could have your own "corner"... you know, Hell, think of the topics you're a master at:!
"The secrets of jazzy enlightenment"
"Saxophones and sexy Goddesses"
"My Wife Works Like a Foo... When WILL She Come Home?"
"Meditation... the Real Key to Mediation"
"Float Like a Guru, Sting like a Hornet"

hell....

:spray:

Do you know where all this nonsense started?
My friend Dan, in 7th grade, started passing around a "Daily Dan" newspaper on one sheet of school paper, joking about teachers, comedy, jokes, puzzles, etc. Contests.

HELL, I just HAD TO HAVE one too, they were so popular.
So the next day, I launced, "THE DAILY DUDE"
then, there was the "Biweekly Dave" and it got outa hand

Recently, my son picked up flow with an internet one called "D"

I thought that was cool.

(he comes in tomorrow by the way, I'll say hey)

18. and so it is.
I think Wayne Dyer misses the mark on a lot of stuff especially since he tries for some sort of middle ground which loses the nuances at the ends of the curve. Plus, you're right when you say we're all one, not our .... Once again, he's playing to mass consciousness. "Our" reflects ego possessiveness. No judgement, just saying.

I've been working with this recently and pass it along fwiw - Experiement with saying "I don't know or What should I do?" When I do it, the infinite mind responds with a download of information and insights.

Big hello to the kid. Tell him I say Nigel North and Hopkinson Smith. :>

Bizarrely, it's a nationally syndicated one, so it shouldn't be relevant at all, but somehow is. No, I can't think of the astrologer's "name" right now.

24. Many times
these archetypal shifts take a few days to "get thru" especially if you have a lot of Taurus or Capricorn
It's all ok, it's good that if finally manifests. Don't be frustrated, time is a weird thing, eh?

15. Dude, I think the plural is "Nemeses".
I think it's a Latin word.

Medium is singular. Media is plural.
Criterion is singular. Criteria is plural.

I took two years of Latin in high school so I'm aware of some of these things.

Rock on, dude. :yourock:

19. I go through phases
but haven't read a regular horoscope since Rockie left us. And Rockie I read more for entertainment value. She seemed to be accurate on general changes, but way off on the specifics of how the energy would play out. At least for me.

Once in a while I'll stumble across someone who seems really accurate. Then, after some months or years, they lose it (for me).

26. In my opinion
it's really hard to do specifics
because all these energy patterns manifest in such a personal way
That's why it's so important to understand the energy pattern shift, then you can play with it the way you want to.

20. The key to the poll is the daily aspect of the horoscope
I hardly ever read the dailies, except to amuse myself. I always read my monthly horoscope though, sometimes more than one. And if anyone can recommend a good, plain-written annual horoscope book, I would welcome that suggestion. Since Susan Miller stopped doing her annual book, I have been at a loss.

As if I could power a car with them.

Funny thing is I came into this world with double A narrow feet. Then I wore Berkinstocks as a hippie wannabe, hitch hiked a whole lot, and then pregnancy made them even wider.

Dunno why that link didn't work.

Try this one
