Ugh I'm so sick. Any vibes you can give on this? |
|
Sorry to ask but I'm worried...
I started feeling crummy a couple of weeks ago and I can't seem to get any better. Lethargy, poor concentration, sore muscles in my arms and neck, and I feel feverish but have no fever.
The worst part is that no matter what I eat or how much I sleep, I never feel any better! That is completely unusual for me.
I go to the doc on Friday but in the meantime, any vibes? Thanks in advance.

3. I'm not a doctor but I work for one. |
|
I won't see him until tomorrow afternoon, but I will ask him what he thinks. Your symptoms could be so many things. The fact that they have lasted a couple of weeks with no fever makes me worry. Unfortunately, by the time I can get back to you, it will be almost Friday. I am glad you are getting checked out and will send you good vibes and healing light as much as I can. In the meantime rest and try to be tranquil.

It is easily cured if caught early.

10. Not sure what may be causing it |
|
but the mentions of Lyme disease upthread resonated. Definitely ask your doctor about that. In the meantime, sending lots of healing energy and clarifying energy as well so you and your doctor can figure out what's up.

11. I'm scared it could be Lyme! |
|
I was on vacation in California, and got a bug bite that developed a small round rash. But I wasn't in the woods, just on the beach a few times, so I didn't think of ticks.
Now I'm scared it was a tick. The bad part is that Lyme disease tests are often inaccurate, and I'm afraid I won't get treatment even if I need it...

12. Treatment consists of antibiotics. |
|
Given the history of symptoms, your doctor should be willing to treat for it even if the blood test is inconclusive.

I go tomorrow morning. Keep your fingers crossed for me!
I would like to get on antibiotics so I'm safe rather than sorry.

16. tell her about the rash |
|
a target ring-type rash usually appears with lyme tick-bite, but not always.
If she thinks there's a chance it's Lyme, she'll probably treat for it simply because of the risks of not treating it and having the disease progress are too high. Symptoms and long-term effects, if untreated, can get pretty nasty from what I've heard.

But if she won't be convinced, I would urge you to see another doctor. If you are in central TX, I can recommend someone.
Like NL said, she probably will, because left untreated, it can be devastating. It is much more common now; not like its an exotic or anything.

20. Okay--my doc gave me some antibiotics. |
|
2 weeks worth of Doxycycline, which she said will treat both Lyme and sinus infections (I've been having sinus problems all summer as well!).
I am SO happy! I haven't felt good for two weeks and am certain I need some meds. I'm glad she helped me and I hope I'm better soon...

14. Talked to the Doc and he also said it could be Epstein-Barr syndrome. |
|
Something you could also bring up to your doc. Lyme disease would also have a lesion, like where the tick bit you. Hope this helps.

but Lyme seems just as possible. The rash doesn't always appear, and doesn't last when there is one.

23. She said it might be Lyme. |
|
She gave me meds. 14 days and then a refill if I want for 14 more.
I'm getting scared though because of all the stuff I read online. So many people fight Lyme for years and no medicines help. I hope that won't be me! :(
Praying that I'll be cured and feel all better soon.
Do you know anyone who has had it, and how they did?

who was diagnosed YEARS after he was infected. He also has fibromyalgia. Don't know if they are related. Could be, or could be lyme was misdiagnosed as fibro. He was evidently bitten while sleeping on a *natural* untreated cotton futon. At the time he had an allergic reaction and his body swelled up. His doctor has been treating him with IV antibiotics for awhile now. He was on oral for a year. We've been living in different towns, so I don't know all the particulars other than that. I know he sounds better than he did a few years ago. He told me that had it been caught at the time, routine antibiotics would have cleared it up. That was confirmed by my own internet research. He also suggested there was a slim chance of it being sexually transmitted. I've never had the test. Might have one though.
I'm fairly confident that if you stick with the antibiotics you will be just fine. You might suggest to your partner that he be tested, just in case, so the two of you don't pass it back and forth. I don't now if he got that information from the internet or what.
Are you feeling any better?
