I have the opportunity to possibly meet someone I very much admire tomorrow morning. To say that this leaves me terrified is an understatement. (If it meant nothing to me, I'd walk right up to him and shake his hand, but truthfully, I'm chicken.)

Yes, this is ridiculous, but it would mean a lot to me. ;-)

One thing that helps me is imagine people as they were when they were kids. We all were kids at one time and somehow that imagery just helps me see them as their adult personna.

Or imagine them being impressed to meet someone they would be shy around. There's always someone who fits this category - doesn't matter who you are.

Not ridiculous at all, Missy--I know just how you feel--been in your shoes several times. But you know what? Each time, I've found the person I admire to be absolutely wonderful and friendly. I cherish my talks with them, as I'm sure you will when you meet your person. :hug:

13. MorningGlow, okay, I'll tell

You guys will ALL laugh.

I'm a romance author, and I write romantic comedy. The second book I wrote was about a fictitious NFL team. My hero is a defensive end, and my heroine is an opera diva. Needless to say, there was conflict! I did a LOT of research to write the book. One of the first articles I found online was a week in the life of a NFL player. They interviewed Patrick Kerney, a defensive end who now plays for the Seahawks. I read every interview of his I could find after that. He's funny. Plus, I got some great plot ideas!

Sooooo, yeah, to meet him was a thrill and a half. He's my favorite football player. Plus, little does he know that his interviews were a great help!

And you know what? I'm in the exact same boat--I'm toying with the idea of a romance novel, and I'm basing the male on a guy who's a minor celebrity in the U.S. If I ever had the chance to meet him I think I'd have a nervous breakdown!

11. Okay, I'm back! I met him!

I met my favorite football player this morning. (He's my avatar!) To say that I am excited is an understatement. He is funny and charming, (and oh, yeah, really handsome,) and if there were not other people standing there wanting a moment of his time, I'm sure I would still be talking to him! He probably wondered why the goofy blonde didn't ask him to sign her jersey or take a photo with him; let's just say I was so happy to be able to walk up to him at all!

Thank you so much for all the vibes and the good thoughts. I am just thrilled.
