I think we need a 'Gratuitous Quantum Award'
given whenever a particularly pointless use of the word 'quantum' appears.

Here it is:

(I made it as small as I could - but, ironically, in a sense this means this is a point )

Feel free to use the link - it's

1. It needs to be scaled.
As in First quanta, second quanta etc. up to tenth quanta.

And death to the person that assigns a 2.3 quanta score!

:)

2. How about using a Feynman diagram?
A large proportion of the quantum clowns won't know what it is, and they won't be able to google a bunch of lines and arrows. If someone doesn't recognise a Feynman diagram, they're pretty much disqualified from using the word "quantum"...

3. Well that DQ's me I suppose...
I don't know what I Feynman diagram is. Maybe I could just refer to it as the big Q?;-)

5. Err, I disagree.
There's plenty of work a person can do with quantum mechanics without refering to chromodynamics.

6. Yes, I'm sure
But wouldn't that person at least recognise what the diagram is, even if it's not relevant to their work?

8. No.
In fact, I'm willing to bet that most people who recognize Feynman diagrams have never actually worked with quantum chromodynamics themselves.
