Mildenhall airman gets six months for drug charges

RAF MILDENHALL, England — The last airman to be convicted as part of a major Air Force drug probe in 2006 was sentenced to six months’ confinement in a court-martial Wednesday.

Senior Airman Jason E. Neal, of the 100th Logistics Readiness Squadron, pleaded guilty to the use and possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and assault.

A charge of distributing marijuana was dropped as part of a pretrial agreement.

Neal also received a bad-conduct discharge and reduction to E-1 in the judge-only trial presided by Maj. Christopher Santoro, the military judge.

The Air Force Office of Special Investigations conducted a search of Neal’s residence in Beck Row after he held a three-day party involving marijuana in September 2006.
