AFN channels changing in advance of cable expansion
AFN channels changing in advance of cable expansion

YOKOTA AIR BASE, Japan — In preparation for more cable TV expansion this summer, Allied Telesis will shake up the order of American Forces Network, local Japanese and base information channels later this week to better serve community interests, general manager Bruse Green said Friday in a notice sent to subscribers.

The changes are set to take effect Thursday.

"Customers have requested the AFN channels more closely resemble those displayed on the AFN channel guide," Green wrote. "Please retune your television after the changes have taken place to ensure you receive all broadcasted signals."

On the base’s coaxial system, a channel guide is airing on Channel 32. It’s expected to move to Channel 15 on Thursday. As new channels are added beginning in June, it will be updated until a more efficient guide is developed.

In the notice, Green said Allied Telesis also has launched a short customer survey with the Army and Air Force Exchange Service, its contract partner. It’s designed to cultivate more feedback on TV viewing habits and preferences.

uhc comment: No C-SPAN, no MSNBC, no Link TV. Yea, that's fair and balanced.
