BAGHDAD — The U.S. military says an American soldier has died after a shooting attack on his foot patrol in Baghdad.

The military says the soldier was wounded Monday in north Baghdad but died in a military hospital. The soldier’s name has not been released.

An Associated Press tally shows that at least 4,147 members of the U.S. military have died in the Iraq war since it began in March 2003.

1. all that pomp and circumstance

and politics at home...you'd think their lives didn't matter. i noted the number on my counter went up again yesterday. wonder if any but the AP and the military times reported it.

i want to find out where i go to put in a question for the "town hall meeting" section of the convention. but i would bet you money that even if i did, and even if i posted a perfect video of a concisely worded pertinent question, they wouldn't air it. i want to know when war became acceptable, and what is wrong with peace.
