EVERETT, Wash. — The aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln is returning to its homeport at Everett after a seven-month deployment in support of wars in Iraq and Afghanistan.

The carrier, with a crew of 3,600, departed in March. Two other Everett-based ships are part of its strike group, the guided missile destroyers Momsen and Shoup. Each ship has a crew of nearly 200.

The first stop for the Lincoln this week is San Diego where its warplanes will depart. They include a squadron of EA-6b electronic warfare planes, the Lancers, from the Whidbey Island Naval Air Station. The four Prowlers are due to land Tuesday, followed the next day by about 200 maintenance and support people.
