WAYNE, W.Va. — Two Army deserters accused of killing a Huntington minister are scheduled to go on trial in March.

Daniel Smith of Newport News, Va., and Stephen Wilson of Cincinnati are charged with murder and first-degree robbery in the fatal shooting of the Rev. Mark McCalla. The shooting occurred June 19 at the Beech Fork Wildlife Management Area shooting range in Wayne County.

Smith and Wilson were captured June 28 at a bus station in Columbus, Ohio. The Army has said Wilson and Smith went absent without leave from Fort Drum in New York in early May.

Their trial originally was scheduled to begin Monday. According to Wayne County Circuit Court documents, the trial has been rescheduled for March 6.
