Maintenance company soldiers return from Iraq

After 15 months in northern Iraq, 250 soldiers with the 632nd Maintenance Company, 87th Combat Sustainment Support Battalion, 3rd Sustainment Brigade, 3rd Infantry Division, are coming home.

A ceremony 2 p.m. Monday on Cottrell Field at Fort Stewart, Ga., will celebrate the return of the soldiers and reunite them with their friends and family.

According to a Fort Stewart news release, the soldiers of the 632nd Maintenance Company conducted vehicle and aircraft recovery operations, including the retrieval of more than 200 destroyed or damaged platforms.

They also provided maintenance support for units spread from Mosul to Baghdad, and conducted force protection operations including the inspection of more than 10,000 civilian trucks and processing 12,000 foreign nationals.
