SIOUX FALLS, S.D. — A National Guard unit that spent a year in Iraq will be honored Saturday evening at a ceremony in Sioux Falls.

The 180 soldiers of Battery B of the 147th Field Artillery of Salem and Sioux Falls returned home in late October after a yearlong deployment. The unit conducted more than 490 security missions and 130 convoy escort missions from its base southwest of Baghdad.

The Freedom Salute Ceremony is planned for 6 p.m.
