GREEN BAY, Wis. — An Army Reservist from Green Bay has agreed to report back to his unit in Iraq, after threatening to stay home to protest the war.

Army Spc. Kristoffer Walker is assigned to the 353rd Transportation Company based in Buffalo, Minn. He’s now working with his unit to return overseas.

After a two-week leave last month, the 28-year-old declined to board a flight to go back. He said the war is illegal and immoral.

The company commander warned of serious consequences. He advised Walker to return for the unit’s remaining four months.

That changed Walker’s mind. He says he’s still against the war, but the Army has the power to ruin his life.
