AIR FORCE ACADEMY, Colo. — A panel of officers has acquitted a senior Air Force Academy cadet of raping a fellow cadet.

Academy spokesman Ward Meade said Sunday that Edward Salazar was acquitted Friday night.

He also was acquitted of indecent assault after he and the alleged victim attended an off-base party last year where alcohol was consumed.

Underage cadets caught drinking have been severely punished, including expulsion. A news release made no mention of the alcohol.

1. the rest of the story . . .
A woman who graduated from the academy in May testified that she and Salazar had gone to a birthday party in Denver in July 2006. She said she could not remember how much she drank, but it was enough for her to pass out.

She testified that she was too drunk to remember any sexual assault by a cadet but knew it happened because of conversations she had with the cadet afterward, The Denver Post reported.

2. More coverup for this scandal-ridden Academy.
If it is not their fellow cadets, its the women in surrounding areas.
