Services meet recruiting goals for November Stars and Stripes

Each military service met or exceeded its goal for shipping new recruits to boot camp for the second straight month of fiscal 2008, according to numbers released Monday by the Pentagon.
The active-duty Navy and Air Force, which are shrinking in end-strength, both hit their accessions goals exactly on target.
The Marine Corps achieved 108 percent of its goal, shipping 2,444 new recruits. Its target was 2,263.
The most-watched service, the active-duty Army, shipped 4,783 new recruits to boot camp in November, compared to its goal of 4,750 recruits, making 101 percent of its goal.
The Army Reserve also made 101 percent of its goal, while the Army National Guard shipped 5,135 new recruits rather than the goal of 4,423, or 116 percent of goal.
