Soldier dies from wounds suffered in Afghanistan From staff and wire services

A 1st Battalion, 503rd Infantry Regiment soldier died Monday at Brooke Army Medical Center in Texas while receiving care for wounds he suffered in Afghanistan.
Pfc. Brian L. Gorham, 21, from Woodburn, Ky., was wounded by a roadside bomb on Dec. 12 in an attack that killed two other Vicenza-based soldiers.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2 p.m. on Thursday at the base chapel on Caserma Ederle.
Staff Sgt. Michael John Gabel and Cpl. Joshua Charles Blaney were killed in the attack that occurred near Forward Operating Base Curry.
Gorham was medically evacuated and had been undergoing treatment at the Army’s premier burn care center.
