So what are your New Year's Resolutions?
What are you planning to do in 2005? What will you change? What will you keep the same? Or do you think the idea of New Year's Resolutions to be silly? Share with the rest of the class!

1. I need to get back to exercising.
I had a great routine established for more than a year and then it all went to pot with my fall teaching schedule. But starting today, actually, I'm back to exercising and next semester I'm only teaching two days a week so I can easily exercise the other five.

2. three things
1. I will become as cutthroat, shallow and venal as the culture I live in. I Me Me Mine, baby.

2. Exercise regularly.

3. Cook and eat a big old plate of red enchiladas at least once every week.

7. hey, I went to engineering school too
There were a few topics I wished I'd hit with more determination. Especially Calc 2 and 3.

4. #1 is not letting fundies get away with stuff
Instead of picking my battles, I'm going to go after everything for a while, just to see how long I can keep going. I've already gotten a head start, by pointing out the biased nature of the ostentatious Xmas trappings spread around my state-college department offices. Fun, fun!

Oh, and I'm going to do more stomach crunches.

6. I am going to execute a global-warming public outreach program
I am going to develop messages, graphics, and literature for tabling at various public events like fairs and festivals. I am thinking of dog shows. I have never been to a dog show. I think a big poster with the whiskered nose and soft eyes of a baby seal will make any animal lover swoon.

I did this activism with a noted enviro group last year, but it was broader and mostly antibush stuff. It was blunt. This year I am going to try charm.

We may do habitat loss, air pollution, etc as a theme instead.
