Do apes believe in gawd????
An interesting discussion on NPR today regarding the bonobo. The what? That is what I said as well. Bonobos are primates which are very similar to chimps and humans, a close relative.

You can listen to the discussion here...
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=4949445

They have some very interesting sexual and emotional characteristics. They are also female dominated. Homosexuality, french kissing, face to face sexual activity, sex for pleasure not just for reproduction, the list goes on.

Listening to the show I was struck by how similar these primates are to humans, and how silly is the notion that human beings are different from all other animals. How can creatures so similar to humans lack divinity, lack a soul? Religious people claim humans are special, apart from all other species. It seems to me that we are nothing more than "bi-polar apes."

1. There are bonobos
in the local zoo here. I've looked into their eyes, and seen just as much "soul" residing there as * saw in Putin's. . . .

Humanity is nothing more or less than evolved apes. We are not better than any other organism on Earth, although we may be the only ones who think we are.

2. I'm hoping someday humans will evolve into Bonobos
And I seriously doubt they have divinity. That's what makes them more highly evolved.

3. According to the latest evolutionary theory,
although it isn't accepted by all paleontologists or anthropologists, the Neanderthal were a smarter, more compassionate branch of the human family that may have been wiped out by the ferocious Cro-Magnon, who looked more like us. I find it interesting that the Neanderthal survived as a species for 300,000 years, yet once the Cro-Magnon arrived, they disappeared after only about 25,000.

We still carry Neanderthal genes. I wonder if it might be possible to activate them? Would such an activation make us more like the gentle bonobo?

. . .
