This thread has almost 60 posts and hasn't been moved. The title is "Merry Christmas DU!" and has no content besides "God Bless you all!" To me, this is tantamount to "Have a nice day all you white, straight people!" by merit of its exclusivist pro-xmas/christian topic and message. The knife cuts both ways. And it's in GD: Politics, so I thought there was more to it than just an "innocent" Xmas greeting and challenged the OP. It hasn't been moved yet. Your reactions??

1. I don't have a problem with it.

Imagine someone posting "Happy Hanukkah" or "Happy Diwali." Would you have a problem with that? It doesn't bother me, though I did think it was kind of oblivious to the "Happy Holidays" "scandal."

2. yes, I'd have a problem with anyone using the GD forum to spread

an exclusively religious message, with no political content. If they want to put it in the lounge as a profession of their beliefs, fine. And it bothers me more because I tend to agree with the sentiment that xtians are given more leeway for what they can and can't say.

I see what you mean, though. If there existed an equivalent atheist expression, I have no doubt it would be attacked as being anti-Christian.
