...that my wife, an Episcopal Minister to be, has been trying to bang sense into the dogmatic types all damned day.
This...
"I don't personally see how there is any real conflict except for made up human ones...."
...epitomises the absolute inflexibilty of some people that I actually have a lot in common with politically but zip in common theologically.
It's sad and I think this time of year just exacerbates their obsessions.

this time of year DOES exacerbate the situation because it encourages the Superman worsphipers to spread the "good news" without regard to ANY other point of view. My mother in law, who I love and is a good friend, decided to launch another salvo in the save Ian McLargehuge from his heather father battle by sending him a mammoth prostelytizing Superman's birthday card with an invitation to her whacked out 7th Day Adventist church inside.
Oh, and he's 3 and a half years old...

Now I am dealing here with alerts on ANY negative comment about any aspect of Superman worship in the most disrespectful and obnoxius was possible, as if someone question Supermanity is somehow going to bring down all of civilization.
Get me through this holiday before I start beating strangers with a giant stainless steel candy cane.
