Proof that God DOES answer prayer
When I was a kid my parents made us attend Sunday School, church, Sunday evening services, Tuesday night visitation, and Wednesday evening Prayer Meeting with them. The church was my second home.

We got a pin for one year’s perfect attendance, and then a bar to be attached to the bottom of the pin for each year of perfect attendance thereafter. Needless to say I had plenty of bars on my pin by the time I was 12. Dad wore his with pride. I kept mine in my underwear drawer.

Every frickin’ Sunday morning my Dad would drag us out of bed and we’d all troop bleary-eyed into a line outside our one bathroom to get ready for Church. Week after week after week after week. I hated it. Every Sunday I would pray the car wouldn't start, but it always did.

Until one beautiful spring Sunday morning. That morning the car wouldn’t start. My Dad tried everything, but the motor just refused to turn over.

Dad started getting frantic, knowing his long string of perfect attendance was on the line.

Finally, he gave up and conceded that we couldn’t go to church that morning. I couldn’t contain myself and started dancing around laughing and giggling.

My Dad looked at me with his sternest look and said, “What are you so happy about?”

I said, “Finally! God answered my prayers!!”

The slap I received was one of the worst I can remember.

Now, is that any way for a xtian to act when God answers prayer?

2. In fact, the xian construction
can be looked at as an archaic fantasy desperately trying to weave violence and peace, hate and love. Suffering is its strongest selling point...

3. Funny - you sound like me when I was a kid
I'm glad all I had was church once a week and bible school either on sat. morning or wed. night.

My mom is now an atheist like me, I always knew there was no god so church was hell.

7. *snort*
Of course, that's what I meant, heh heh.
Divine intervention, yeah, that's what is was.
God had a good reason for not wanting the car to start.
