1. Yeah... I remember it saddened me when he got killed.
Not that he was a hero or anything. But a rowdy mate with a very cool voice. Man, this guy had a voice I love! Listen to the 63-64 songs...

3. I started collecting Beatles records when I was a teenager
This was in the late 80's, so they were getting rare by that time. When I was a kid, I couldn't appreciate Lennon's solo work. Now, I understand and appreciate it much more than I could have as a kid. But I'm still a Beatles fan. And yes, he had an amazing voice.

4. the more I learned about John the more I got to love him
When I was teenager, he was just a musician with some great hits. In the 80s I was more into punk and new wave and ignored him. Now I see excerpts of him on documentaries and realize that he was a profound peace activist and cultural leader. We miss you, John! I can still imagine.

5. Imagine

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one
