Read this positive diary about Kerry -- it's in the dead letter office |
|
of diaries. I have to dash out, but it seemed pretty good what I read: http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/9/20/221058/701

Thanks for posting the link. Some people can think straight, anyway.

3. I finally got to read it in full |
|
Wow, that was an awesome diary, and something I think the diarist or someone else should send to the Senator. It's written beautifully and the poster has a similar idea of how decent a person John Kerry is.

4. This is such a great diary |
|
I posted although it's sunk into the basement. What a shame that such positive rallying cries sink so quickly whereas the unproductive, harping, navelgazing whine fests attract hundreds of like-minded posters like flies on shit.

6. At last some common sense! Fantastic read. |
|
This line blew me away, "If we have to pick up the deadly weapon of personal attack it must only have truth in the chamber. The other side has considered that obsolete for a while now."
You hear so many people here on DU say that we need someone who is going to fight as dirty as the opposition. That's not the way to win. That's Bush's way. That's the reasoning he uses to torture suspected terrorists. We simply cannot become just like them.
It's good to read that there are people out there who understand the difference between fighting dirty and fighting strong. Truth can be the most powerful weapon of all. And there is no motivator better than outrage.

8. Hey, the diarist responded, and had a question |
|
I'm humbled. (1+ / 0-) Recommended by: dynamicdems You are all so kind. Several of you suggested I send this to Mr. Kerry. I guess I will -- do you think the best way is to send him a link via his Senate website?

10. contacting Kerry office |
|
Try the Senate website, but also contact his (deputy?) press secretary Liz Richardson . .. whoever sends out the press bulletins. Alternatively, someone in the Boston office.. .does Tay Tay have a suggestion?

11. Ahm, we need more helper elves |
|
Edited on Fri Sep-22-06 11:19 PM by TayTay
I am still blown away by the comments on the diary last week. Ahm, I am also kind of weirded out by the fact that someone might have listened to me. (It's true, there is a first time for everything.)
Ahm, this is very strange. That is a United States Senator's office after all. Ahm, gee.
The helper elves will try to, ahm, be good helper elves and try. (Does that work for you?)
Herbie, 'I want to be a dentist' was my favorite elf, pre-Lord of the Rings, btw. Herbie was obviously a Democrat. He refused to be locked into a slot in society, he was tolerant and not a speciesist and wanted to devote his life to making things better for others. All in all, I could pick a worse role model than Herbie, so he'll do. (There is a deconstructive Marxist interpretation of Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer, but I'm not in the mood. I just watched Robocop on tv, which is one of my all-time favorite wicked violent movies. Then I watched the Pepperdine speech. They are not really a great double-bill, IMHO. I think it messed with my brain.)
