What bastids,
how fucking low can they go. This is downright awful that they drag family members into this race. I hope Healey rots in hell, and why do I get the feeling that certain repugs in Mass., had something to do with this, other then just leaking it. Excellent response from Deval Patrick.

Editor&Publisher: Candidate Blames Newspaper Leak on Opponent
Published: October 13, 2006

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Massachusetts Democratic gubernatorial nominee Deval Patrick blamed Kerry Healey for newspaper stories on Friday that revealed his brother-in-law had raped his sister in California in 1993 and is now being required to register as a sex offender.

"It's pathetic and it's wrong," Patrick said in a statement he read to reporters his campaign had assembled to talk about stem cell research matters. "By no rules of common decency should their private struggles become a public issue, but this is the politics of Kerry Healey and it disgusts me and it has to stop."

Patrick took no questions and his staff did not detail why he linked Healey to the revelation, made in stories printed in Friday's editions of the Boston Herald and The Boston Globe....

The newspapers reported that Bernard Sigh was convicted in 1993 of raping his wife, the former Rhonda Patrick, in San Diego. Sigh pleaded guilty, served a short prison sentence and was put on five years probation.

Sigh, 54, reunited with Patrick's sister after he served his prison time. The couple moved to Milton in 1997.

The Massachusetts Sex Offender Registry Board sent Sigh a letter this week alerting him he is required to register. The board is part of the Executive Office of Public Safety, a state agency overseen by the Romney administration....

1. This was all over the news yesterday - She is really a sick bastard.
She must be desperate as, after two weeks of slime, she is still far behind Patrick, but Patrick has two nephews who did not know anything about this story before: nice way to learn about the previous difficulties their parents had.

ripped my heart out.

Have you seen the video of Deval's response?

I really like him. And of course, now Bitch Barbie is slamming him for blaming her for the leak. She makes me sick.

There's going to be a (hopefully huge) Patrick rally at the bandstand on Boston Common tomorrow at 2:30. I'm going.

Yesterday Deval Patrick and Tim Murray called out to all of us to join them in a Rally for Change.

Deval Patrick and Tim Murray

Rally for Change
Sunday October 15, 2006
2:30 PM
Boston Common, Boston MA
(bandstand near Tremont Street )

Campaigns for change can often have a defining moment: a moment where the politics of old—of divisiveness and fear—are exposed for what they are; a moment where people of all backgrounds come together to demand a new and better way; a moment where a candidate rises up and calls for change, a change people feel is necessary for all of us to move forward.

This Sunday, October 15, Massachusetts and Deval and Tim's campaign will have such a moment, but only if you participate. We need everyone to come to this important event for the future of our commonwealth. I urge you to come. I urge you to email this far and wide.

Phil Johnston
Chairman

We urge you to email this far and wide. We urge you to print and post this far and wide. We urge you to come and demand a new way for our Commonwealth.

of the media (not the Herald, of course, but the Globe and the TVs...). We are still at the level of the emotionless " he said, she said", without anybody standing up and explaining how despicable this is, and with TVs taking money from the Healey campaign to explain us that due process is not part of the American tradition. In blue Massachusetts, it is the Swift Boat story all over again.

As long as this continue, we can only hope that people in MA are more intelligent than that. Will it be the case?

6. I'm considering attending
I'll have to beg-off from another event I was supposed to attend. But it's worth it to show support for Deval Patrick.

7. Good for him
Very good and heart-felt response. I hope lots of people show up for the "Rally for Change". We need to have a bunch of these, all across the country, to symbolize an end to trash politics. This is even lower than the swiftboaters. Just disgusting. How horrible for his family.

Those newspapers need to suffer for printing this trash too.

11. Target
An article about Boston Globe Media. Mary Jacobus specifically mentios Target, so they must be a key advertiser. So, we need a slogan about Put The Target On The Issues, and start hammering Target to stop advertising with media that prints smears about the candidates' families or absolute proven lies that go to character only. (I don't think you can avoid issue distortions) Somebody could probably fine-tune that idea. It's a different kind of good corporate citizen accountability, but I think it could take hold and make an impact.

I've definitely decided to show up for the rally, and I'd like to meetup with my fellow Kerrycrats before-hand. If someone would PM me with the info, I'd appreciate it.
