John Kerry doesn't know me from a bag of beans, but I consider
him a friend to democracy, in addition to the extremely long and detailed list of virtues he represents.

He's a very wealthy man who is humble about those virtues. Richard Perle -- to pick just one Republican example -- is also a wealthy man, but is arrogant in his manner and condescending to others, and advances a private and selfish agenda. He (and so many others like him in the GOP) are not public servants as Kerry most certainly is.

I think a democrat AND a Democrat could look into all our candidates and find many virtues. Kucinich. Clark. Biden. Boxer. Bayh. Dodd. Edwards. Kerry. Gore. On down the list. We prefer some more than others, but these are our people, our candidates, our party's champions. The other side offers Giuliani, Gingrich, THE CAT BUTCHER, Huckabee, McCain, Pataki, and on down THEIR list. Yuck.

I am disheartened to see all the vitriole hurled at John Kerry on these boards. 'Have intentionally avoided the threads. I was trying to appreciate the effort Democrats have made nationwide on behalf of campaigns by Jim Webb, Sheldon Whitehouse, Sherrod Brown, Claire McGaskill, Diane Farrell, David Sanders, Baron Hill, John McTierney, and many others. We're a party on the ascent Monday morning and by Tuesday noon we're shredding our own.

Yuck to that, too.

Just thought I'd stop in and say hello to everyone, and to suggest to you what you already know: that John Kerry was right, that the apology owed is from the Iraq War engineers and plotters, and that what was good about the junior Senator from Massachusets on Morning morning has been good about him all his life, and will remain good for the remainder of his life.

1. Hi, OC!
If you want, you can leave a message on the JK blog. Not sure if he'll get it, but it might be worth a shot :)
